Pomegranate Restaurant
Highly recommended Persian restaurant in downtown Toronto region. No grilled (or Koobideh) meat but perfectly home cooked (style) Persian food! Mostly stews and rice. Slightly sweet but quite flavourful.

Delicious, sensual experience. Every bite was layered and balanced. The pilaf with saffron, orange, and pistachio was like candy. The eggplant dip with tomato and garlic was so creamy and comforting. The lamb was juicy and perfectly tender. Thank you for a beautiful culinary experience. Next time I’ll bring my friends.

Phenomenal! Large portions. Rice with raisins was delicious, eggplant dip was addictive. Only thing that was weird and a little rude was being asked as soon as we sat down if we knew they didn’t sell kebobs…. Maybe they thought we looked too young to enjoy good food?

Persian food is some of the most beautiful food in the world. I had the lamb shank with orange and pistachio rice, a glass of rosé. My friends each had the walnut and pomegranate braised chicken with rice, pint of beer and apricot braised chicken with rice, pint of apple+ cherry cider. All amazing, filling, and comforting. Service was very attentive, fast, and friendly. Love it here, and after a decade since I last visited, I'm glad it's still alive and well. A must visit for any who want divine food and to have a beautiful meal with friends, all great for sharing and so many other great things to try on the menu.

So, We went to Pomegranate last night, My Canadian friends really enjoyed the food and the decoration. But not happy with the service, the white none Persian woman care but other girls were not, she was sitting and playing with her phone, unless someone ask something, and I asked two times and took a long time to bring the order and they didn’t even bother splitting the bills which it’s so easy to do that, so my friend ended up paying the whole bill. Overall food was great but service was not.

So unique, both food and the vibe. We ordered mosama bademjoon and baghali polo w mahiche. They were sooo delicious. And I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed the persian vibe there.

This is a great spot for delicious Persian food! The decor is absolutely beautiful and the food is delicious. It’s a lovely spot for a date, but it gets pretty busy so make sure you make a reservation ahead of time!

It’s a cute little spot decorated in Persian style. The service was good, however the food was mediocre, but portions are huge.I wouldn’t call their menu authentic Persian.I had a chicken in plum sauce and my husband ordered Shirin polo.
