Whitworth Ferguson Planetarium

I saw the Pink Floyd laser show last night and it was amazing I’d never been to a planetarium or a laser show and it really exceeded my expectations, the visuals were so crisp and I loved the smoke machines

We last minute checked out the planetarium for any special holiday shows. We were not disappointed. They are playing two shows this weekend (although we saw the last showing of The Longest Night tonight). They are still showing two matinees tomorrow, 12/22, of Let it Snow, an animated holiday music show. Our 6 yo really enjoyed the pre-show talk about the stars in our night sky and the show was lovely. The presenter was knowledgeable and very personable and took time to give us telescope recommendations after the show. They have new shows starting next weekend, so check out their website.They are in a temporary facility in Buckham Hall at Buffalo State College. I rated it a 4 only because the folding chairs were uncomfortable. We look forward to the new facility which looks beautiful.

Went on a date to the Christmas laser show. Staff was very friendly and courteous from the emails and speaking with them on-site. Show was in a very small inflatable planetarium (I believe they are doing construction on the real one?) and was a bit cramped. The show was cheesy (as expected!) but I think it is more geared towards families and kids. Either way, it was a fun show (and cheap with a Groupon!). They have around 10 different laser shows, some that I would certainly be interested in on paper, but I don't think additional viewings are needed after doing it once.

The show for The Sky Tonight: Summer Stars" was great! It was so very informative and visually looked as though you were looking up into the night sky! My kids loved it as well. I highly recommend attending the shows at the Whitworth Ferguson Planetarium and I plan to attend their shows in August on Space Rocks and Late Summer Sky."

I went during opening weekend to the public.Really nice content. Chairs are very comfortable.Looking forward to following along to see what other programming will be offered!

Great holiday laser light show. Didn't even know Buffalo had a planetarium so will definitely check out more events there.

Such amazing place! The show was awesome! We had our kids bday party there and it was absolutely perfect!

What a great addition to Buffalo, a different fun thing to do especially great for a date night, had a gentleman by the name of Kevin who really helped me by getting me tickets the day of a show for a special occasion, they have different shows at different dates and seasons, amazing service, will be coming back, and would highly recommend!

Very friendly and helpful service! We watched both shows and they were very interesting and awesome graphics. There was a pre-show explaining the night sky which allowed for questions if wanted. We watched the Winter Stories and Solar Superstorms. We reserved our tickets ahead of time and then paid at the door. $8 for adults for each show. Very reasonable! Can't wait for their new planetarium to be built!!

I haven't been to the planetarium since I was a kid&I was just as amazed today as I was then. It was such a beautiful experience. The host made us feel right at home&kept the information flowing nicely.would love to do it again.
