Durham Ultimate Fitness Club Bowmanville

I started coming to Durham Ultimate Fitness in May. I came from a class style setting so coming to a gym where I come to do my own workout was a bit intimidating. This feeling didn’t last long! The atmosphere here is like no other. The community is so friendly and welcoming! I am now able to do my own workouts and on days where I’m strapped for time I can attend one of their Push Classes (which are absolutely amazing). DUF has been my home away from home the last two months. I’d recommend anyone looking to start their fitness journey to come here!

This gym is amazing , i switched over from Planet Fitness 3 months ago after feeling very uncomfortable and staffing wasn't taking things serious and the whole thing about judge free zone called BS on that.NOW Ultimate Fitness has been nothing but accommodating and understanding , walks you through everything with the paperwork , shows you around on the floors best part is they have a separate area for women to work out if they're not comfortable yet to working on the floor with others which is fantastic! Staff and Manager there are is super friendly and very welcoming bonus is they will come out on the floor and help you out if you are unfamiliar with the machine or how to do a technique within your workout ! ( I don't know any other gym staff members that will do that). Best part is now they are 24hrs open and have some awesome fitness classes as well and have STREAM ROOMS in both the females and male change rooms ! Also they are under new Management, lots of new improvements that have been happening which is amazing . Nothing but good positive vibes and for everyone the comes in there they are friendly and very helpful with each other i feel like this is true no is judging zone but helping each other out :) !Amazing gym with amazing people , I totally feel comfortable in this gym :) !

I have been a member of this gym for almost six years now. I must say, I’m very impressed by all the renovations happening over the last month or so! Great community of people, friendly management and staff.

Women’s section (more like a tiny corner) is an absolute joke. It was better pre-reno. Finally gave women a squat rack and then took it away when they moved the women’s only section. Mis-matched free weight and really no space to use them.

Great gym, but unfortunately today I was accused of steal someone’s phone. The gentleman looked for his phone for 30 min asking everyone before coming up to me asking to search my bag I said “go for it no worries”. He found it a few minutes later sitting on some equipment. I expected an apology but none was given. I guess the new cameras don’t work? Properly a good idea to review footage before asking to search people’s bag.

I have been a member of Durham Ultimate Fitness for a while now and I am extremely impressed with all of the recent updates and renovations! Aesthetically - the new graffiti wall is an awesome addition, and the steam room is a great way to relax after a workout. The equipment lineup is extensive and really well-maintained. But most importantly, the staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly! I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a great workout experience.

From the 1st time I walked in here I felt like I was “home”. Working out and being physical has always been apart of my life, and as you get older and priorities shift it’s not always easy fitting in time for “me”; with ultimate fitness being 24 hours and very conveniently close to home it helps make moving my body daily an absolute priority. Every single time I am there I am greeted by pleasant and happy staff and the owners are the most personable I’ve ever seen in any facility. I am so grateful for this amazing gym and sense of community it offers, the patrons are all so friendly and driven. I can’t say enough good things about this gym! Thank you for also being open to the younger generation and allowing teens to have somewhere to go and workout that’s affordable and comfortable! So many new things always being offered I am so impressed with DUF and won’t ever not be apart of this amazing gym!
