Fairfield by Marriott Montreal Downtown

With a clean and beautiful interior, great service from all of its staff we encountered, and a very good breakfast every day, this hotel exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back next time.

Nice, well located, hotel. Nice staff. There is a microwave to use to warm up leftovers in the lobby. The walk-in shower is lovely. Comfy bed.

A wonderful experience. The location of the hotel is great in downtown of Montreal and close to the old port, the room is large and smells very nice, the mattress is very comfortable, breakfast food is very tasty and varied. I will definitely try it again.

Enjoyed this hotel very much. Customer service was superb bySteven (Stephen?)…went above and beyond with his helpful recommendations and overall customer service. Loved his great attitude.

The hotel is extremely short-staffed, and the front desk agents are stressed out and overwhelmed. The hotel is old and apparently, most of it is being renovated. When I asked the agent whether there was an option to upgrade based on my loyalty status, she laughed and explained that there was nothing to choose from due to the renovations. The doors are awful, it would take me several attempts to try to open the door. At night people were slamming their doors and waking me up. The housekeepers were extremely loud ealy in the morning. All felt like I slept in a construction site. I did not get a good night sleep unfortunately. The next day, even thogh I told everyone that I have a late check out, housekeeping knocked in my door 4 times every 10-15 minutes. Then I received a call from the front desk -- they desperately wanted me out. Terrible quality for the money I paid.

Great location and thank you to Stephen & Nikita for their excellent hospitality and welcome! The rooms were comfy and clean and the morning breakfast was great too! Shout out to all the incredible staff for making our stay enjoyable.

This hotel is average at best. The interior is clean and simple and the location is close to the Old Port; however, it is on the same block as homeless shelters and needle dispensaries. The service is not on par with other mid-range hotels. There is no more regular housekeeping service offered daily and the front desk is overworked and misses many of the things they are being told. We had an issue with the charges to our credit card regarding parking managed by the hotel; the card was charged the incorrect amount. When asking the front desk, they were flailing and made up answers; Khalid the manager was not any better. Instead, he brought us back into his office to check on his own computer. He did not know where to look in the system to get an answer for the incorrect credit card charges. Weeks later, we are still seeing preauthorized transactions on our credit card from Fairfield Inn and Suites and no logical answer can be provided by him. He and the rest of the staff do not follow up with guests nor are they helpful, they just pawn off the problem to others. In our case, they blamed the bank. Pre-authorized charges come from merchants, not the bank.The Marriott group should be better than this and has lost our business moving forward.

I stayed at Fairfield this past week and I wanted to say how wonderful the staff was to me. Not only were they super accommodating but overall the nicest staff I have had at a hotel ever.I got a to go breakfast one morning as I leave early for work and the one gentleman tracked me down outside when I walked out to make sure I got a water and juice with my breakfast.The afternoon gentleman made sure I was able to get parking and had everything I needed, went out of his way for this and it truly made my day.Thank you very much to all and I look forward to visiting your hotel again.

Great, new, clean hotel with excellent service and a surprisingly nice free breakfast. Only 1 short block from Berri UQAM metro station, which is a major connecting station. At the far end of Ste Catherine, but easily accessible on foot or by Metro (and accordingly more reasonably priced).
