HI Edmonton

Context: solo female, double occupancy room, 5 day stay in MarchThe GOOD:Staff - helpful and politeCleanliness - common areas, bathrooms, and my room were very cleanLocation - easy access to lots of restaurants/bars, 20-minute walk to the LRT, 2-minute walk to main bus route with service to downtown core, west edmonton mall, etc.Room - had the room to myself all 5 nightsThe BAD:Noise levels - you can hear every door close, the front desk phone ring, people talking in the halls/rooms/lobby. I woke up at least a handful of times every night, one night unruly guests kept me up from 2:30am-4:30am (management kicked them out the following morning which was great). There's no carpet in the halls so every sound echoes. I couldn't imagine how loud it would be in the summer when there's more people staying.Women's bathroom stunk - there must be a venting issue with the sewer because the bathroom constantly reeked of sewer gas. The window would be left open to mitigate the smell, but then it was just smelly and cold.Summary - it was a good deal for the price ($210 for 5 nights) and very clean, but bring ear plugs. I'd stay again, but I'd request a room farther from the lobby and not stay during peak season.

*WARNING* - After trying to sleep for several hours, I realize that there is no air conditioning system in the rooms. The room was too warm for me to be able to sleep. I ended up checking out of the place the first night at 2:30 AM and went to the nearest hotel. Of course the hostel doesn't allow refunds. This rule is in place to ensure that the scam is successful for the people that fell for the trap. The staff members that work there are instructed to tell anyone who requests a refund, the website doesn't mention air conditioning...". This is a ridiculous statement as there are minimum expectations for paid lodging/ accommodations. I'm sure the website does not mention that it is equipped with a hot water tank to heat the water

Great location, easy walking distance to main strip nearby. Rooms are spacious and the beds were comfy. No individual privacy around any of the bunks though if you refer that.Front desk reception were also lovely and helpful

Small beds with barely space for the lower bed for a nice price. Team there is the nicest I've met in a hostel in Canada.The room have a huge locker where you can fit up to 3/4 medium backpacks

Nice hostel. Modern with lots of facilities like lounge, TV room, pool and tennis table rooms. They give free bars and oats in the morning. Rooms have a sink for convenience.

Very kind and accommodating staff, clean bathrooms, the women’s bathroom only had one sink, but we accidentally got a room with only one bunk bed in it, which was a nice surprise- the room had its own sink and mirror in it which was the first for us at a hostel. Safe and easy access to parking behind. Also walking distance to a happening street with anything you may want. Good safe location.

Great hostel! The staff was really friendly and helpful and the rooms (including the bathrooms) were very clean. The kitchen was quite big which is nice. There aren’t a lot of plugs in the room, but they provided an extender so everyone was able to charge their electronics. The lockers were really big and could easily fit all of your belongings. Had a great time during my stay!
