Rotary Park

Enjoyed this walk . Met some friendly and not so friendly dogs… Would appreciate better signage & if it were a closed loop as it’s kind of a dead end trail. Be prepared to see partying folks along the river so I can’t say I’d recommend it for sober folks or parents with kids. There is a washroom which is handy.

Rotary Park is a beautiful park on the edge of the Cowichan River on the south side of Duncan, 'The City of Totems'.Trails, tennis court, river access and green fields of grass make this a fantastic place to spend a few hours with the family or a day exploring with your dogs.The water is crisp and warm in the summer, with plenty of areas for sitting. In the cold months the water rages and makes for a beautiful sight and a thunderous orchestra.One thing that is a negative, isn't about the park, but about the people that seem to be moving into our beautiful city parks. On more than one occasion I have found discarded needles laying on the ground, junkies passed out ON TOP OF BUSHES along the trails closer to the Silver Bridge. It's the addicts that are the issue, not the park.

We are starting to look for good dog parks and Rotary Park was on our list of places to visit. This was a good place to meet other dogs for socializing. The paths are wide and you could access the water but it was way to deep for our little baby.

This is a beautiful park with a great walking path by the river. There are a couple of good swimming holes with fairly calm water. Lately you have to watch where you step as there are quite a few places with discarded items including drug paraphernalia and sharps. A portion of the trail washed out in the fall floods and has a temporary re-routing

Great place to go walk your dog. There is a Long trail that's up on top of the dike along the river where you can have great views of the river. You can also go swimming in the river from this park as well. There are a couple tennis courts too and lots of green space and Fields.
