Such a lovely atmosphere! My friends and I had low expectations seeing as we wanted a quick drink before we headed to a club and were pleasantly surprised at the friendly staff who helped us find seating. It was quite a good introduction to the Montreal nightlife as we were from Vancouver

The guy at the bar is very friendly, and the place is very friendly. Drink prices are very cheap, and the bar is very social. I would definitely recommend. This is a smaller bar, but this is a good place for a date.

I love this place! Simple, unpretentious and the kind of place where I would actually just go to have a drink alone and hang out if I happened to be passing by. Great vibe, nice drinks. As others have mentioned, not really a cocktail bar, but they do decent cocktails. The prices are low, but the cocktails that I have had were pretty much half portions. (For example, my Negroni was 0.5 oz of each ingredient rather than 1 oz). I would just cut to the chase next time and order a double.

Great place to top off the night, very cozy spot for a small group. Interior decor reminds me of an apt feel, music wasn't too loud for easy conversations. Definitely will come back when I'm around the area. Cheval Blanc and Cream Ale on tap!

The owner and bartenders are great. Good times good drinks great conversation.Intimate atmosphere, a very relaxed crowd generally. Fantastic priced shots. Some pub games available like Jenga.Music varies but is generally fed from the bartender and their tastes. Which varies from jazz to relaxed electro and I've never heard a complaint!Bathrooms are clean, no patio or ATM unfortunately.

I’m almost scared to review this place because I don’t know that I want more people to start going there but this is the perfect bar. It doesn’t feel like going out so much as like going to the apartment of a much cooler, more successful but still welcoming friend. It’s teeny tiny which I love in a business and the staff are <3 (s/o to Stephane in particular). They don’t have food but you can bring food and sometimes they have theme nights so occasionally you stop in and there’s corn on the cob or Nantha’s famous Pad Thai. Bars like A Bar are why people go to bars at all.

Comforting little bar which has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere to it, it’s just that kind of bar which you don’t find anymore, what a gem. Go meet Jean-Sébastien, great bartender but even better person you won’t regret it!

Great neighborhood bar. Perfect cozy interior, friendly staff and regulars, and a good selection of beers on tap. I don’t really drink cocktails myself but they have a large selection of spirits.
