Big Al's Texturing

I called Big Al’s for a quote to fix some water damage on my knockdown ceiling thanks to an upstairs bathtub drain leak. I was ready to have them come and perform a costly repair but before they did they suggested I try an at home solution to help with the discoloration myself. They even called toFollow up to see how I got on by myself. Any company willing to be that honest with a potential customer even when it costs them money deserves my business. Will 100% be in touch for any future needs and will tell all of my friends about them too. Thanks for the amazing service Big Al’s you’ve gained a customer for life.

Last week I had the good fortune of having the Big Al’s crew come in to take down the existing stipple ceiling, repair, tape, plaster, the ceiling and one wall. I live in a single level home with a finished walk-out downstairs. It also had Poly B piping until a few months ago. I left the downstairs with a number of holes in the ceiling and a wall, until I researched who I wanted in to redo my ceilings.My choice was Big Al’s because of their reputation and I am glad I did. They started with a walk through explaining exactly what they would do and how long it would take. Asked me to give them two things - a bare room with no light fixtures.The first day of work Chris came in and explained how the system worked with different crews doing different jobs.I have never seen a better bunch of guys work so well together in all the different jobs I have been involved with in my forty seven years of working.It is easy to see why the end product is so excellent.Well Done!Geoffrey

They guy came to ‘skim the ceiling’ in bathroom and hallway and did only part of it. He hung plastic all through the bathroom and no-showed for three days! A family lives here… so not impressed!

Big Al’s Drywall CalgaryThink twice before you hire him. (Interesting how even though I gave him a 1 star it comes up as 4.5 stars)I do not recommend him and this is why.A couple years back we had skylights installed. The tape at the top below the window and a section of the roof where the beam goes across started to crack and separate.Called Big Al, he was too busy to come take a look and said it was the window installers fault.Called the window installer who came over and said it is definitely the Drywaller error putting the wrong material trim in place.Then I called an independent Drywaller who agreed with the window installer.Beware....

Big Al's Texturing was retained to patch up the holes I had cut in the walls and ceilings after the plumbers had replaced all the poly-B materials with a new Pex-A system. Big Al's are not the lowest priced drywall contractor, nor are they the fastest, but the finish and quality of their workmanship is excellent. Their work complemented and matched the superior plumbing installation. The final finish was seamless and I couldn't tell where they had resprayed the popcorn ceilings or where the repairs on the walls were after I had repainted them.Their personnel are very experienced and qualified and they protected and cleaned up the affected areas the best they could. Recognize that drywall dust is insidious and it will get into every area despite whatever covering and tenting protection put in place. All in all, a very satisfactory experience and my house looks and feels like new! I highly recommend Big Al's to do the drywall and ceiling repairs for any poly-B remediation projects.

Chuck did an excellent job of scoping out the work, advising me on details and organizing the crew. Javier and Nick in their preparation of the site, Chris with the drywall work, Mike with the painting and then Javier and James with the clean-up - all meticulous. My apologies for missing a couple of names(a man on the front end and a woman who did the heavy lifting on the clean up). A special shout out to Javier who moved furniture at the end to help me get things back to normal sooner. I'm grateful and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this outfit. Five stars all the way.

Big Al's was hired to repair and refinish our ceiling. They did a horrible job. We could see lumps and bumps in the ceiling which meant they had to start over, delaying our overall renovation schedule and causing double the detrimental health effects to us with all the dust and spraying. They then came back later in the renovation to touch up walls affected by the ceiling job and made a huge mess of all the walls, which the painter complained about so Big Al's had to also redo this, which delayed our project further and again caused us more health issues from all the dust etc.I definitely do not recommend Big Al's.

We had James and Frankie come do the texturing from a water leak and then repaint the family room and kitchen. They are 2 of the greatest guys and go above and beyond expectations and everything has to be perfect before they leave. They also came back on a Sunday to do another repair for us outside our house because we couldn’t get anyone else to come do it. They are exceptional employees and will refer your company to others that need work done. Great job guys.

We recently contracted Big Al's to refinish our main floor ceilings and we are really pleased with the result. The entire Big Al's team was on-schedule start to finish. In fact, they finished one day ahead of schedule. While a project like our can be rather dusty, our home was left as clean as could be expected. We, honestly, cannot think of any criticism and we highly recommend Big Al's if you are looking to refinish your ceilings.
