Preschool - Gr 6 Private Elementary School

I came to SLI in SK and fell in love almost instantly.Sidney Ledson gave me the most wonderful gift a child could possibly ask for, a love for learning.I loved and cherished every moment at SLI that I spent there. Their SSAT program is exceptional and Sidney ledson shaped me into the person I am today. I made so many friends and learnt so much throughout the years.Now, I am in grade 7 at havergal college and i couldn't have made it this far without the help from the amzing teachers and staff at SLI.Thank you so much!!!!!

Recommended by someone whose opinion in educational matters we consider highly credible, we first enrolled or son in Grade 2. By the end of Grade 2 we were absolutely convinced that this was the school that would provide our son with a healthy academic foundation.Now near 9 years old in Grade 3, our child is visibly transitioning into a smart young man. This says a lot about the sensible academic methods and teacher interaction used in the classroom. But, I have also reviewed and compared the textbooks and other materials that our child brings home for homework, and I can confidently say that Sidney Ledson uses the most appropriate material for childhood education.

I supposed I could mention the academic rigour expected at Sidney Ledson, such that pupils are expected to be a year advanced of the Ontario curriculum; I supposed I could mention the small classroom sizes; I could mention the dedicated instructors and staff. For a smaller independent school, Sidney Ledson punches much above its weight class. However, I could imagine other Sidney Ledson parents would mention the same, so instead I think I will mention something else.This is a school the realizes that life doesn't end after grade 6. A graduate of Sidney Ledson is expected to matriculate to the school of his and her choice. That's not due not only part of the academic preparations receive at the school, but also the extra the steps the school takes to ensure a student's success. As early as grade 4, students will already have receive tailored guidance, assessment of his or her own strengths and the best fit in terms of next schools. SSAT prep will be offered. Ms. Shivji will not only offer interview coaching, but also personally write recommendation letters to ensure maximum chance of success. This is something I believe, seldom done at the elementary level and very rarely even at a secondary level. Students in my son's class matriculated to University of Toronto Schools, Upper Canada College, St. Mike's, De La Salle College and Bishop Strachan. I think this success speaks for itself and really reflect on the quality of the school. Highly recommended.

Both of my kids went to this amazing school when they were younger. Down to earth and nothing too fancy. But Ms Tobaccowala and Ms Shivaji really brought out the love of reading and self motivation in my kids. For that I forever grateful!!! I been recommend anyone I know to this school.

My kids attended the school part time when they were preschoolers and learned to read before they went to kindergarten. The school is excellent in giving individual attention to each child and allow them reach their highest potential. I always had a pleasant experience with everyone in school. Once my kids went to public school system starting kindergarten, they forgot everything they learned in SLI and although they had a bigger playground to play in, they fall behind academically. Once Covid hit, I brought them back to SLI. Again I noticed my kids flourished both academically and socially. The school provided them with individualized academic program which resulted them going ahead of Ontario curriculum. They also became very active in all the clubs and competitions offered by the school. I only wished they had a bigger playground for the kids.Thank you everyone working in SLI for taking such excellent care of my kids

Services offered were not up to par. No hygiene practice, facility not clean and bathrooms smell of urine. Pre schooler did not enjoy her time and is still traumatized of her experience. Spent most of her time being yelled at and placed on timeout. Constant complaints from teachers who cannot handle a three year old. Contacted principal and expressed my concerns and lack of service rendered. I received ZERO response and they did nothing about it. Over priced for NO reason. No classroom management and very “worksheet” based learning. Was also told they had a garden. They don’t. They have a baby slide on CONCRETE! No safety and lots of construction and noise. Daughter came home everyday with a rash in her bottoms and stool remains in her underwear that was left the whole day! After few weeks, still dealing with treating infection. Teacher has attitude and let’s not fail to mention that you have to pay for parking each time you drop off and pick up your child. One time I did not and I got slapped with a 70 dollar ticket! Extremely disappointed by this “school”, lack of hygiene, poor communication skills, and failure to adhere to school protocols and classroom management.

I love going to SLI! I enjoy the clubs and playing in house events. This year I am part of the Magazine Club and Model UN.

SLI offered me an amazing experience that I really benefited from throughout highschool and even university. Thank you to all my teachers, especially Ms Tobaccowala, Ms Cheung, and Ms Shivji, for giving me such a strong start in life. I really appreciate it and I'm glad to stay connected with the SLI Community!

Sidney Ledson online classes have allowed my son to access quality education despite living in a remote city in Canada.The teachers are excellent, my son has learned a lot. My son is very happy learning and now he is more motivated to learn.His teaching methodology allowed my son to learn to read in a short time. My son now reads more books and likes to learn through reading. I am very happy with his progress.
