We have used Finely Tuned Audio for numerous audio / video projects at home, boat and at our business centre. We have found Richard to be an invaluable resource. In fact, we wouldn’t undertake any A/V related project without him. His pricing is surprisingly reasonable, and his dry Irish wit is a welcome bonus! If you are looking for someone who can guide you through to the best possible A/V solution Richard is your man.

We used Richard for a complete audio visual high end theatre system and we found him to be very good. Great attention to detail, honest, and hard-working. We had some existing speakers that we thought we would have to replace and Richard told us that they were very good speakers and did not need to. On occasion I have called Richard with one off items and he has been more than happy to help. I live in Tsawwassen and he’s in West found yet seems to be readily available.

I have worked with Richard for almost 30 years and i find him to be honest , knowledgeable and committed to providing the best customer experience possible.I have used Richard to oversee the design and installation of structured wiring, a distributed audio system and multiple home theatres at our home in New Westminster. He has also calibrated more than 5 different TV's in our systems over the years, always with outstanding results.He has always been professional, courteous, on time and fair about his rates and time required to complete any job.I recommend any of his services highly .

We hired Richard to help us figure out what we needed to have Dolby Atmos in our house. He started by trying to tell me that my receiver wouldn’t support it - which it does and says so on the front panel. He then sold us on some very expensive speakers after he spent 20 minutes telling us how poor quality our current Bose system, that is VERY good, was.We made an agreement that he would install the new speakers (Left, Centre, Right) and properly install the remaining two. Hiding all cables behind or along baseboards and mounting them to the wall. He had us run cables under the couch..I had to work away from home on the day of the installation and that was ok as my fiancé was home and we trusted Richard to at least complete what we had agreed upon.Our appointment was at 10:00AM. He didn’t show up until nearly 11AM. Then he proceeded to spend SIX HOURS merely plugging in three speakers and organizing HDMI cables - this organization of cables was not agreed upon before hand.Richard - at the end of the day - then stated that he had forgotten the majority of the materials he required to complete the job and wouldn’t be able to mount the sound panel or the rear speakers to the wall. So now we have to wait 5 days for him to get organized and return to finish the job.My fiancé and I sit down to watch a brand new movie with Dolby Atmos sound and...... nothing is set up. Richard, quite literally, didn’t set up Atmos on any single one of our 5 devices. I emailed Richard and he told me that he unplugged HDMI cables at random and labeled them as whatever he wanted to label as. This caused a catastrophic malfunction in which we could not watch anything in 4K HDR, on the extremely high end set up that we have. I spent the next two days - an entire weekend - fixing the problems he created and when we contacted him via email, he was flippant and rude. He literally googled the answer and sent me a quote from the first article like it was from some technician he knew. He was dismissively apologetic and ultimately didn’t care about the weekend long inconvenience and additional work that he caused us.When Richard finally showed up to complete the job - He didn’t even bring the required parts, AGAIN! At this time I was out of the house and my fiancé was once again in charge. She called me and we decided that Richard was on his last strike with us. It was costing us far too much in lost wages for such an expensive install and ultimately, he was in WAY over his head with the level of knowledge required to install everything properly. My fiancé sent Richard away & I began emailing him my thoughts and what we expected.His response to our honest disappointment & inconvenience was, once again, extremely flippant and rude. He dismissed us, said he wouldn’t not be able to complete the work properly and ran away from the responsibility of completing the job he quoted and agreed upon.This is the worst part; Richard then sent me an invoice for the labour to install the equipment. He attempted to bill us for an additional two hours of labour - at $90 per hour - FOR ORGANIZIG HDMI CABLES! Again, something that was not agreed upon and when he was doing the organization of HDMI cables, he didn’t even mention that he was going to bill us a total of $180.00 to use a label maker and label each cable.I denied Richard this egregious addition to the bill and paid him the 4 hours that was quoted and agreed upon.To summarize; we were left with a non-functioning home theatre system after our first installation. His second trip to our home yielded the same result as he brought nothing to complete the job with him. Then ran away when asked about his poor business practices and extreme level of disorganization.Richard Stokes (The man who owns and operates Finely Tuned) is nothing but a glorified salesman and terrible businessman who is trying desperately to stay in touch with new technology. He will oversell you on both the equipment he peddles and his lacking installation abilities.DO NOT USE FINELY TUNED FOR ANYTHING!
