Super 8 by Wyndham Lethbridge

Had the worst experience gecking in here today of probably my whole life. I'm a Wyndham platinum member and I stay in a lot of hotels so I was completely flabbergasted by the blatant fraud that this hotel is running. I paid in full on Expedia but before I did I had phoned the hotel and asked what their damage deposit policy was, I was told $50 flat when you check in on your credit card, fine, this is pretty common practice. When I get there everything is fine until the front desk agent informs me that the $50 isn't going through on my card. Strange as I had more than enough funds available. She tried it again, to no avail again. I ask how much she is trying to charge as I know I have $50 on the credit card and even confirmed in line again via online banking that this was true. So I call my bank to see what is happening because now and again things don't work the way they should. My credit card company confirms there is definitely enough money for the transaction. My credit card company then informs me the desk agent had actually been trying to charge 137.42 to my card, not $50. It was confirmed that they tried to charge this twice. I confronted the desk agent to why she would try to be charging 137.42 to my card and not the agreed upon $50 while I had the credit card company rep on speaker phone. 137.42 incidentally would've been the charge for one night plus $50 deposit, but it had been confirmed by Expedia and this desk agent the room was already paid for. To which the desk agent tried to tell myself and the credit card company person that we were both wrong. I was never presented with a machine to confirm said charge the desk agent simply whisked my card away and tried to do it manually, twice. The desk calls the manager whom I never get the opportunity to speak to, and still with the credit card rep on the phone tried to.lie and tell me she didn't just try and steal 87 dollars for me via an overcharge. This super 8 then proceeds to tell me that actually my room has now been cancelled. So now I'm still out 87 dollars because I caught them trying to steal 87 dollars from me on my credit card. I will be contacting BBB, Lethbridge police, and Wyndham tomorrow to see what can be done, and we will now have to dispute the charge on our credit card from these scam artists. Stay away from this establishment at all costs, they will steal from you.*UPDATE*. I have now involved Lethbridge police services and I am well aware that they paid you a visit yesterday. If Expedia doesn't refund my money you stole I will be taking you to small claims court to recoup my loss. This is what happens when you steal and break the law. You aren't a reputable business and you were given every opportunity to make this right.

We didn’t spend much time in the room so it was more than adequate. It was very small and older but it had everything we needed. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was a nice feature especially for the price. I would stay here again.

I found the super 8 to be clean and comfortable and very affordable. Check in was a little slow because the hotel was unable to match the price on Booking. We had to wait for it to process first.We had an outside access as well as a hallway access on the main floor which made for easier unloading. The rug looked fairly new and I would have appreciated a mat for my dirty boots at the outside door. It was quiet even with a main roads nearby. The heater was also very quiet.Breakfast was fine with hard boiled eggs, cereal, waffles and bread options. The breakfast area is new and bright.We walked to Rivaaz Indian pizza and cuisine for dinner. The food was authentic and so delicious.

The room was nice and spacious, and very clean too. Very friendly stuff. I am surprised by the quality of the rooms at the price point.

Big rooms, very clean, customer service was fantastic. Complimentary breakfast had alot of choices, fruit, waffles, toast, bagels, Oatmeal, yogurt,muffins and tea and coffee. Would definitely stay there again

The room itself was good lady at the desk was really helpful. But one thing that set me off threw me for a loop, our hot water tank went we live in Lethbridge and so we figured we'd rent a cheaper hotel so we have a shower and everything. And I made a reservation online and get to the hotel got told if you live locally you can't even stay at a local hotel. That rule you guys have in your policy. Don't agree with so not cool what about any emergency in your home or things like that you got no where to go or even just have a staycation wanna take kids somewhere for a couple of days like really. That there I wouldn't give any stars for this policy or recommend this to anyone if someone asks how the policy is at the hotel because of that.

**BEWARE** Was charged an additional nights stay and hotel has no record of this transaction being charged to my credit card! Have been in touch with my cc company and now my time to provide a letter and documentation to support the disputed charge". There are a couple past reviews where individuals have also dealt with cc charge issues."

Rooms were nice.Breakfast area was crazy busy , maybe just the busy time when we went down

These people at super eight motel in Lethbridge. We’re not very nice people to deal with. The lady behind the counter had an attitude problem, so I walked out, and I would never recommend staying in this hotel to anybody.
