Zombie Combat Zone

Zombie Combat Zone is family friendly fun. Of the three years I've been, this year was the best by far. The organizers put a lot of work into this, and it really shows. Many of the criticisms my group had last year were resolved, and their theme this year was a novel experience. Zombies often popped out of the brush from all sides, so even the back of the line had targets.The location was a little bit hard to find, but Carl was kind enough to call me before our booking to offer extra directions. I was especially impressed by the actors staying in character throughout the tour, despite our deadpan group. I found their professional resolve to be remarkable.I found ZCZ to be a friendly, lighthearted event with professional and passionate staff. I highly recommend it.

Oh man, these guys are true movie lovers - it's more open than last year, more firepower than last year, ... a total carbon-burner!I'm already working on getting another group together to go again :)

Our group wasn't the only one that was very disappointed. On the company's facebook page, there were several other reviewers who found that the experience was rushed, not as advertised, and not worth the money at all. Unfortunately, instead of addressing the problem or allowing the public to have access to patron reviews, the company has disabled the reviews function on their page.Very disappointing as this was an experience we had looked forward to since last year.

This was my first paint ball experience and nothing like I had expected! When our group got there the staff was super friendly, helpful and got us all setup. Nick our squad leader was excellent (without giving too many details of the game away) and got us safely through. The ending or finale was GREAT and totally awesome. All in all a great night with the friends getting us some zombies!!! If anyone is looking for a different type of paint ball experience you can't go wrong with these guys!

Our group first participated in 2012 and had a great time! We never made it to last year's event but this year we needed to come back! This year was even more fun and we all had a great time slipping and sliding on the muddy trails while trying to get shots off in the rainy forest in a very target rich" environment. Everyone said that they were "in" for next year. Unique storyline and great acting from the hillbillies and zombies alike. We nearly had to leave one of our squad behind when a Zombie got real close to him. We also wanted to mention to the Zombie that couldn't help laughing on the ground after being killed by our group (no doubt listening to the crazy banter amongst our multi-national group)- dude

Not at all what we expected... At the end of the very short paintball/zombie session everyone in our group looked at each other and said is that it??" Don't believe the hype

We had a great time at the combat zone. You don't have to be a big group of adults to have fun here. We took our 8 year old and his two buddies who are 8 and 10. There were some amazing smiles and laughs from all three of them after unloading a bunch of paintballs at the Zombie in the shooting gallery area. Top notch fun that's a little different. If you happen to be in White Rock with your kids for dinner and want a fun diversion for a little while go check these guys out. Everyone working there was friendly and helpful and made the young gents feel welcome.

Our group had an eerily identical experience as another reviewer. We arrived half an hour before our start time and were told they were behind schedule and to return in 15-20 minutes. When we did return, we were rushed and half of our group of 12 had dirty masks that kept fogging up and the guide didn't care to stop or wait for them as they tried to fix them. There was no interactive" game play with completing objectives or anything of that sort. The tour guide did all the "objectives" and it was not like the advertised video game type experience of completing missions. The experience was rushed

This review is for the 2014-version at the new location. The theme is more comedic and less serious than previous years apparently; I haven't been before.PROS: The props are very good and the atmosphere is just right. The staff is also very friendly and you can tell they really like what they do, which is awesome to see. I have no doubt that younger children would have a blast with this.CONS: It's not scary or fun. If you've never shot a paintball gun, you may enjoy it just to shoot one, but with zombies that are mostly stationary and almost always come from the front, but never have a chance to get close to you, makes it very boring. The guide also points out a majority of them, and so it feels like your hand is being held most of the time.The website claims to have loud noises, smoke, and fire. This new location has none of these things. Furthermore, roughly 5-7 minutes of your 30-minute experience is wasted watching short video clips spread along the way meant to tell the story, but even these videos aren't very entertaining.Literally 90% of the experience is walking in a line shooting at stationary zombies or watching video clips. The finale is the only part that gets you moving, but even that only gets you running for maybe 20 seconds total, and then it's over.I think it's a very neat idea, and perhaps the new location limits what they're able to do, but the website most definitely over-hypes the kind of experience you'll get.BIGGEST ISSUE: There's no sense of urgency, fear, or thrill that a zombie-apocalypse is supposed to have.
