We had a wonderful time. The accommodations were perfect. The host was lovely. The scenery was spectacular, whales and puffins were in abundance. Lots of places to see and the restaurants had great food.We can't wait to go back.Wanda and Tim

Enjoyable stay and accomodations. Owner was very responsive via text or email. Cell service is very limited in the Elliston area. Puffins, root cellars and a beautiful beach in Sandy Cove very close to the Bird Island B&B. Only recommendation is that the owner should have notified us that the heat was shut off in the electrical panel. If it is damp, windy and rainy, a little bit of heat will make a more comfortable stay.

Cozy bed and breakfast with a homey feeling to it. The common room is very comfortable with big couches, a TV, and many interesting books to read, but you'll most likely spend your time exploring the puffin and whale spotting areas nearby. The bed was comfortable and the amenities were great. The breakfast we had in the morning was excellent; starting with a fresh fruit bowl and juice, and continued with eggs, ham, pancakes, tea/coffee, and hash browns. Highly recommend this place, especially with the reasonable price!

Comfortable and clean and quiet! Great breakfast. Wonderful place to eat at the Root Cellar within walking distance. Get 15% off if you mention the b&b. Near puffins and root cellars. Highly recommend.

This place has a nice view of the ocean!The kitchen had the essential equipment like fridge, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, etc.We stayed in the efficiency unit with 3 people - the main bed is comfortable (Queen size) but the couch bed has a nice mattress topper but is quite noisy with any movement. You could also hear voices and noise from the guests upstairs that can be annoying especially in mornings!

This was our first stop on a Newfoundland adventure and our host and stay at Bird Island really added to the experience. Friendly, friendly people. We met another couple there and the 6 of us had a great time! The gift shop owner down the road stopped by after hours. He had seen our rather unique rental vehicle parked out front and popped in to report that one of our party had left one of her purchases behind. One of the guest rooms is a little small but it only added to the memories.

Beautiful views of whales playing in the waves during morning tea on the deck. Located close to all attractions in area. Store and take out next door. Make sure to check out Wilbur Hobbs carvings a few doors down, simply amazing. Puffins are a plenty in the evening.

We stayed in a three bedroom unit. The two rooms upstairs had great views of the bay. The room downstairs had a very low ceiling which was awkward, but all the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped. The host was very helpful. It was great to be able to do laundry as well.The B&B is located close to the puffins and close to a couple of snack bars and restaurants.

We stayed here in July 2017 and enjoyed it thoroughly. Besides the fact that the location is incredible, the BB itself is an experience. We shared some songs (Charlotte writes some of her own which were delightful), the breakfast was fabulous and the room was so comfortable. I would go back in a heartbeat. All this is besides the puffins, the whales, the icebergs....
