Very unhelpful and her fees are excessive considering how unhelpful she was. I do not recommend her. I am not sharing my name here due to confidentiality. PS: My review is for Dr. Emily Blake.

The hardest thing most people have a hard time doing is asking for help, especially when it comes to mental health. Putting one step forward and asking for help is a challenging event and shouldn't be taken lightly. I asked for help over a year ago and I've been waiting ever since. Letting people fall through the cracks is the greatest loss to humanity.

I have seen two different clinicians at Blake Psychology. One Hungarian, Dre Bekes and the other Polish, Ms Joanna Rosciszewska and both have been superior to anyone I’ve seen in the past in Quebec or The United States. This is a testament to the clinic and specifically to the quality of the practitioners Blake Psychology employs. My first year at Blake Psychology I worked with Dre Bekes. She is a patient and methodical Psychologist. She let me talk but at the same time she guided me through extreme and intense emotions buried in my past. The strength she displays gave me the confidence to open up to many methods of discussion and exploration I had never considered possible in the past.I was referred to Ms. Rosciszewska when Dre Bekes left to teach at the Yeshiva University. The past year has been enormous for me. Using her unique theraputic style she created a supportive, emotionally neutral environment where I could begin to rebuild a positive sense of self. I’ve had so many cathartic moments working with Ms. Rosciszewska. I’ve gained clarity at so many levels and in areas I had forgotten I possessed. Due to her sensitive, supportive approach, I was able to refocus my motivation in an authentic, forward looking direction where previously I had only felt struggle.

DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!I paid almost 200$ and fully regret it!I found the whole experience to be unprofessional and disappointing! Let me tell you why you should not waste your time or money with this service.First of all, I was insulted that they could not even match me with a therapist that speaks fluent English. Even though my every communication with them had been fully in English. Not only is that unprofessional, but completely unacceptable! If I am paying to talk to someone, shouldn’t that person be able to completely understand what I am saying? To be able to give me the proper advising, tools and skills for my situation?Following that, there is an 8 page document that they say to fill out before your first session. Don’t bother! I spent a long time filling this out for two reasons. One, it asks about literally everything from past to present. And two, that being said I wanted to make sure everything was accurate and well communicated. When I got there I realized I forgot the forms in my car, I said I could just run down to my car quick since I had parked in the building. Would have taken 5 minutes. But he said I could bring them the next session, and that they weren’t necessary... Shouldn’t the forms be a guide to the first session? So that you can discuss the reasons you are there and have a proper aide of assessment? Why did I just spend hours making sure that all the information was there? This made our session awkward now for 2 reasons. The language barrier, he kept having to find his words to tell me his advice and asking me to elaborate my answers to help him understand my problem. And instead of having the forms to refer to I felt like the session was so scattered talking about bits and pieces of my life and jumping back and forth to explain things. It was just a mess! Finally, the handling of payment was weird. I can’t recall if this was on the site’s questions page or in the 8 page form but somewhere it discusses how to pay the therapist. It says that the money is to be paid at the beginning of each session in order to focus on the individual for the rest of the session without interruption. I usually pay cash in an envelope and so as instructed I gave it to him at the beginning of the session. He refused it, and said that it could be handled at then end of the session. So that was at the back of my mind the whole session as well.Yes, I could have got up and left at any point after this terrible service but I still would have had to pay. If not for the full session, still probably would have had to pay some kind of cancellation fee.So that was my experience and I am completely unsatisfied! When I am seeking help for mental health I expect to feel like I am in good hands. I did not feel safe enough to schedule another appointment, I suggest you take your time and money and invest it somewhere else.

Vous me DÉGOÛTÉ. C’est vous qui devriez voir un psy.

Dr. Blake called me today and I also had a great experience back in time with another therapist so I will change the review to 4 stars. The reason why I complain is because I paid 200 dollars for a psychologist who said she understands ADHD on the website but actually doesn't understand our day to day challenges. The therapist identified that I need to get used to boredom, which makes sense. But then instead of teaching me how to do it, she just said I should do things that I don't like. I told her I can't walk the same street everyday, she told me to do it. And she also told me that people live in a box and they don't know what is outside of the box to imply that I have narrowed way of thinking. Also the questioning of my ADHD diagnosis just doesn't make sense. I've been an ADHD coach for a year, diagnosed in 2020. I had to defend myself at the end and told her that I'm super happy that I've achieved this much in my life because I'm curious and I kept learning and not accepting boredom. But she never said one word that I'm doing great. As a coach myself, and I have two life coaches, we all understand that to help a person to change, we need to understand the benefits of changing, also the benefits of not changing, then we compare, we make decisions and then we change. Just telling people that they should change is not helpful, especially for ADHDers who face more challenges in certain areas.

*Edit: They had reached out to me to resolve the issue, so this review is now up from 1* in terms of customer service.I was recommended this place so I had tried it out a couple years ago and didn't really connect with the doctor I had so I had left. Recently I had attempted to try again considering I know more about my condition and the types of people I work best with in a therapeutic environment. I was given a few doctors and appointment times and was told to take my time in making a choice. I had replied back and all the spots were booked and now there is a waiting list for one doctor. When I was told to take my time, i didn't think everything would get booked in a day. This is very disappointing and has turned me off from the process of therapy completely. How can anybody be expected to trust the process when they need help and are misled.
