Laurel Place Care Centre

This place is difficult to get a hold of staff, not only on the phone but also when you’re at the facility, usually nobody is around. They not only no answer the phone but they don’t even check messages left on their system.Family requested to have a residents lunch outside, to enjoy the sunny day, however after 30 min wait, family realized the food was left at her usual dinning table without letting relatives know. I DO NOT recommend this place at all.

My mom has been living at Laurel Place for more than a year. The environment is comfortable and secure. All the staffs are very dedicated and caring. Thank you for taking an amazing care of mom!

Staff is very caring, courteous and cater to all reasonable requests. They handled the difficult times, during the pandemic, with a lot of patience. Kudos to the management, the staff, the nurses, and everyone behind the scenes.

Our father is a resident here. We are very happy with the care and support they provide. Our interactions with the staff are pleasant and courteous. We get regular updates and any concerns are responded to promptly.

I cannot say enough about Laurel Place. My wife is in the Alzheimer’s wing and the staff there are absolutely wonderful. They treat the patients with love and care. The staff on the front desk are very friendly and I actually look forward to seeing them every time I visit. I am quite often there at meal times and the meals are great. I feel so blessed to have my wife at Laurel Place as she loves it there and I have the peace of mind that she is being very well taken care of.

I have lived at Laurel Place for 14 years and I feel that I have been treated very well with no problems. The staff are always busy helping me and everyone else. They always involve me in activities and they want to make sure we are happy. The staff are very caring and nice.

I am very happy with the care provided to my resident. Laurel Place staff have been most helpful to effectively deal with care issues and any concerns that arise in a timely manner by phone and email since, as POA, I live two provinces away. I have been included in care management mtgs and consulted as appropriate while all the while continuing to provide good care management in my absence. The friends and family meetings allow me to participate by Zoom so I feel more connected to happenings there. Laurel Place is a caring place for the residents who need their services.

My dad was in long term care on the fourth floor, so we saw a lot of changes over the five years he was in residency at Laurel Place. This period included the beginning of Covid restrictions and a change in ownership of the property two times. Not all the care was to our satisfaction, and the food certainly has gone down in quality especially with the last purchase by Park Place. However, my dad had some care aid individuals along the way who were very good to him and took care of his basic needs better than we could from the time he went into care. The staff were always open and available if and when I had concerns or questions, and they ensured that I had the information I needed, to feel confident in his care and wellbeing, that day. If I had an issue, the appropriate staff would address my concern with professionalism and kindness. My dad was obviously treated well and appropriately, or he would not have lived almost five years in their care, especially through Covid. Great care was taken to ensure residents and staff were kept safe: there was not one time that I felt he was in any danger due to Covid. In the end, the disease took him and when I left his room for the last time, I left other residents and staff who had become familiar and friendly faces to me. Thank you to all the staff for keeping him safe and warm and happy in the last years of his life. It is because of your care for him that I have a lot of happy memories with him there.
