Indian Motorcycle Sturgis

Rented a side by side from Indian / Northern Rentals. Upon arrival to pick up my reserved RZR, the prior renter hadn’t yet returned it. They didn’t have another RZR to put me in. So my options were to wait (as everything was completely rented out) or they offered me a General (that somehow wasn’t part of everything being completely booked). I took the General option and it was fine. It was a newer machine in great condition and ran well.I returned the machine after hours on the same day I picked it up. 2.5 days later I received a call claiming I had damaged one of the plastics and needed to pay $460 to replace it. I asked for before and after pictures and asked why it took so long to inform me. They said they would get back to me and call me back. After a couple hours, they called back and said that they were mistaken. The damage was on a different machine.So while I didn’t have a horrible experience here, my guidance for the reader is to do your due diligence and document yourself the before and after condition of the machine.

I looked at my tires and realized that even though they had some life on them. I should have gotten new tires before we left on the trip. ( 8000 miles )So even though I knew it was a huge longshot. I called the Rapid City harley. Yep, you guessed it.. The first thing they said. Nope, we are booked out for 2 weeks.. I realize it is the 4th of july holiday weekend. But you would at least get a sorry" we are booked. I asked if they could recommend another place. The guy said no and said

I bought a 2022 Chieftain in June of 2022 and it had a manufacturing flaw which lead to the dealership rebuilding the motor with new case halves in Oct. 22. Within 800 miles it was leaking oil again in another spot and smelled like burning rubber. I was already upset about having a new bike with a rebuilt engine so I traded it and paid another $2500 for another 2022 Chieftain (same model and paint color) they had leftover in April 2023. When I received it it had 0 miles because they didn't even test ride it after the pre-delivery inspection. Within 200 miles during the break-in it had oil all down the underside of the bike because they hadn't tightened the oil filter properly. So in conclusion, I've bought 2 new motorcycles, had a motor rebuilt, have had 3 oil leaks- 2 of which were technician error and the Manager hasn't even so much as apologized for my inconvenience or thanked me for my loyalty after the fiasco with the first bike. I wouldn't believe this situation if it hadn't happened to me. The bike rides great and my sales person provided excellent customer service but I will go to North Dakota or Colorado before spending another penny at this dealership even though I live less than a mile away.Update: The service manager contacted me AFTER I posted the initial review. I waited a week to update this so I wouldn't say anything rash, but I think I'm more angry. His best suggestions were for me to bring the bike in and he could go through it with me or they could detail it for me. I am trained as a technician for several other brands so I can both wash and work on my own motorcycles. I said maybe they could do my 5k service and he said that should be possible. But after careful consideration and speaking to several of my peers about the situation, I've decided I'm just going to contact a Polaris representative and explain this situation to see what they can suggest.

Abby really helped us out and Indian of Sturgis was a ke to help us with my wife's 2021 Chieftain elite clutch issue where my hometown Lone Star Indian said we would have to buy after market to fix the factory clutch on a 1 year old 1 owner Indian. Thank you all for the help and exceptional service.

Rode 6 hours for service on my Roadmaster. Price was exactly what I was quoted on the phone, and service was completed right on time and staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend, and I'll be back!

Never gave the shout out before. But great dealership to work with. Bought my 21 challenger over the phone from 5 hours away. Paperwork was quick I arrived. Got introduced to everyone in every department and got a thorough walkthrough of the systems. 10/10 would recommend
