You always have a range of products to choose from. Fresh produce at an affordable price is of good quality or if you are into chemical-free or something in between, connoisseur treats, they have it. The shop was well-kept and not crowded. They have everything for you. Highly recommended.

This is re cook food/buffet only.Happy hour list has 6 items on it. After standing in a line, we were informed two were not available (incl. our choice), and two out of four that were left can't be sold as advertised. This is misleading. We left to eat somewhere else on Davie. Please consider not supporting.

With gourmet food I expect a gourmet experience. The store's layout is visually confusing and disorienting, lacks clear use of space and signage. Store does not have a typical and obvious square grid layout with straight aisles and obvious spaces to line up.At checkout, I want a quick scan for price check and decide to take up space in this badly marked store behind a customer who's paying for items. While that goes somewhat slowly, I wonder about some other checkout stations nearby that look like self-serve but maybe not working and I take three steps in that direction to have a closer look. Meanwhile the customer in front of me gets finished and I proceed with my question if these machines here are self-serve. The cashier says no, and I say that I just need a price check on this bread. The cashier says that first I need to line up behind the six other customers who showed up meanwhile. I abandon all my groceries on the spot and leave.I really dislike being treated unfairly, perhaps a 'Were you next in line?' could be taught to the cashiers and some gourmet manners, I don't like being cornered like a kid and rudely told what my only option in life is (lining up and exactly where). Yes, I could be more assertive, and no, I'm not paid for explaining gourmet life to your workers. You deal with it.

Super busy location. They have hot food and salad bar with some limited selections. Long lines, service is definitely very friendly but kinda slow given how long are the lines. Washrooms are dirty. Could be way better, like in other locations.Positives - nice seating area, great gourmet foods, delicious coffee and well priced freshly squeezed orange juice! ($5 for 16 oz). Friendly service.

Just reviewing the restaurant and bar side of Urban Fare. Was pleasantly surprised by their happy hour offerings!Urban Fare $5 items from 3 - 7pm. For food, they have the shrimp tacos, fried cheesy pickles, poutine, pretzel charcuterie board, lettuce wraps and BBQ chicken sliders on special. I had the lettuce wrap and it was pretty good for $5! You order at the hot bar side (there’s a giant order here sign) and then you pay at the cafe bar register.Drinks are also on special during happy hour - also $5! I got the white wine and my friend got a bottle of Heineken.

A charming grocery store that enhances the shopping experience.A great spot to grab lunch or dinner items, but not where you'd usually do a full weekly shop, as it could get expensive.I had a very tasty Thai Chicken Wrap from the deli and a drink to take to the nearby waterfront park. But I took a few minutes to walk through the whole store.I'll definitely return if I'm in the area. Great layout, good lighting, enticing displays. You could find the supplies for a picnic, a meal on the go, a full sit-down dinner or just a few items. Also has toiletries.

Don’t mess with my first meal of the day.Stopped by Urban Fare for breakfast. Ordered the chorizo breakfast wrap. Pretty sure they forgot about my order. When I checked on it, they opened the Microwave and threw my wrap on the grill for 30 seconds. The end result, a dry cold, un edible breakfast wrap.Coffee was good though.

In general, the prices here are too high for me to buy a ton of actual groceries when I come here, but I'll buy little things that are hard to find elsewhere from the grocery section (they have a brand of vegan yogurt here that I like). What I really like about this store is the cafe, which is like, a step above grocery stores cafes that are already a step above usual grocery store cafes. The main thing being is that this is not just a few takeout counters - they have a salad bar and prepared hot foods, but they will serve it to you on house dining ware, and there's even a small menu of made-to-order dishes! Nothing vegetarian on that menu which is sad for me, but plenty of vegetarian stuff from the hot food counter which is probably just as good. And alcoholic drinks (including house-made cocktails) are served! So it's basically an actual counter-service restaurant which is very nice.I had poked my head into the store a few times but only recently got around to actually trying this restaurant and I was really impressed. I got a spanakopita and a side of madras curry couscous. I was really impressed with how flaky the spanakopita pastry was, and the couscous was very flavourful!I got a slice of vegan carrot cake from the bakery counter to enjoy with my meal, which isn't part of the restaurant area so unfortunately they pack everything to go. The cake was disappointing compared to how high quality the restaurant food was; it was really sweet (I know it's cake, but it was too much) and was a little bit oily but at the same time dry. I generally like vegan baked goods, but I wonder if the non-vegan baked goods here are better. They had some cake slices that were way too big for me but would be great for 2 or even 3 people that looked seriously beautiful. The grocery prices are high, but the restaurant prices are actually pretty good! Dinner and dessert only $16.There was one person in the restaurant who I thought reacted impatiently when I had a menu question, but otherwise the staff is usually pretty friendly. I like the atmosphere of the whole place in general, it's a very unique vibe for a grocery store. They had a singer/guitarist performing one time! Also there are sometimes samples of local brands the people giving them out are always very chill - eager to talk about the product but they don't try to pressure you into buying it.

What a wonderful discovery this was for us on a recent trip. The ambiance is wonderful with moderate lighting in general that still illuminates all the products well. It is a refreshing contrast to the harsh fluorescent lighting elsewhere. The aisles curve and bend through the produce area - it is like walking through a garden and picking the fresh fruits and vegetables off the trees and vines. Everything is fresh and delicious, plus the other items include ample varieties of natural and organic options. It is artistic and utilitarian combined.

Urban fare USED to be better, carrying local goods and gluten free products, but then they switched over to the Save on model, but they’re 1/2 the size of a save on so they don’t have the room to stock the niche items they used to. For example, they no longer carry any gluten free alternative flours, aside from almond, which is NOT a replacement in recipes. Or corn tortillas. And hardly any natural foods. Also, the roast chicken is very dry, do not get.Just a disappointing experience now.
