Mole Guacamole
Storm stayed in town, decided on Mexican for lunch. I always prefer family owned places over chains. This place does not disappoint. Best Mexican I’ve ever had! Too bad I live in southern Ontario. Would be my go to if it wasn’t 2000k away. Great staff, highly recommended.

Mole Guacamole
Was in town for the day and was craving Mexican food. I seen Chronic Tacos and was going to go all in and try it since I have never had before. However I spoke with one of the locals and he said that if I wanted authentic Mexican and not a food chain to try Mole Guacamole. He said it's a hole in the wall but the family came from Mexico and the Grandma is making the food. Once I heard that I was sold.I've tried many places for Mexican food and this hands down has to be the best I have ever had. The location isn't the greatest but your going for the food. Once I took my first bite I was very impressed with how much flavor there was. It's a drive from the City but worth the drive. I'm going to come back again in the summer and take my family because it's that good. Highly recommended 5/5

What a great find for us! We stopped in on our way back to Brandon from Winnipeg. We had never been before and didn't know what to expect, but we were very pleased with our food and the owner is very friendly and enthusiastic. You can tell he takes pride in his restaurant l, which is great to see. We both had burritos, and they were massive and very delicious.

We went here for lunch today and we do not regret it at all! We were greeted by a friendly smile and warm welcome.The food is the BEST food in Portage La Prairie and the best AUTHENTIC Mexican food available in Manitoba and neighbouring provinces.The tostadas (chicken chipotle) had a nice crisp to the tortilla, the chicken was moist and the toppings really balanced out the umami of the meat with freshness.The Barbacoa tacos were great. They were flavourful and had a generous amount of meat in them.The rice is to die for! The refried beans are the best refried beans I’ve had.The churros were really light and delicious. I could probably eat multiple servings if I wasn’t so full from the large entree servings.Service was quick and food came out right away.I am genuinely surprised by this place. Highly recommended.To anyone not from the Portage La Prairie area, trust me, it’s worth the drive.

Dropped by for a late lunch on a Tuesday and had a wonderful meal, the Chicken enchiladas were ok not amazing but good enough, the Mole sauce is good but I was not able to taste any chocolate? There were hints of spices but it was predominantly sweet so I preferred the Salsa Verde but would have preferred both sauces to be more spicy.The Chimichanga is huge, The pulled pork inside was very good but it was mostly rice which was also tasty but just too much of it, wished the ratio was more of a 50/50 even if it was smaller in size overall. Did I say the pork was really good? II am looking forward to trying the tacos next time and see if it is comparable to Sargent Tacos (or better?)

The food! My goodness. I wasn't sure what I was expecting. Whatever it was got left in the dust of this amazing little restaurant!I've always had a soft spot for Mexican food but usually end up disappointed because authenticity is not on point.This place is authentic! From the decor, the music, the staff, the smells and the simplicity of the experience.I can still taste the many amazing flavors I experienced. Oh and DO NOT skip the rice! I could eat a bucket of that stuff. I don't know how they got so much depth of flavor into RICE! And cooked perfectly too.Unbelievable experience, both for my soul and my pallette.

Wonderful atmosphere. Great food. The authenticity of the food and aromas even beat any Mexican food I have had even in Mexico. The food is great. The freshness of the food and aroma open up your senses. The atmosphere and the music takes you to Mexico. Can't wait for there location in Winnipeg. Very friendly and professional service.

Very great mexican restaurant!Authentic food, great tortillas and guacamole. Tacos were also very delicious! Portions are very generous.The owner Roberto was also a very nice host! One of the best Mexicans we've been in Canada so far!Would come back and recommend for sure!Graciaaas!
