My car wouldn't start. I literally got out for 2 minutes and got back in and it wouldn't start. I live in the highlands and this happened downtown. I tried and tried and got someone to try to jump me. It didn't work. I got on the phone and called all the numbers for mobile mechanics, not one answered except for Coastal. He got it going within seconds. However, I stopped somewhere again and the same thing happened. I called him but it was late at this point so there was no answer and I left a message. I couldn't get it going myself. He called the next morning and came and picked me up at my dad's place and got it started again for me. I highly recommend. His rates are much better than anywhere else.

I was in a pinch and he dropped everything he was doing to help me out. Solid and honest, his rates are well below what anyone else is charging. For everyone else leaving reviews- you gotta give respect to get it. A good guy to know, next time I need anything done I know who to call. Thanks again.

Planning on leaving for a week long camping trip today. Class A motorhome wouldn't start. Called this mobile service and he answered his phone immediately and came over to look at our problem within 2 hours. My husband knew it was the starter motor or the solenoid; we had the starter replaced last year, but as with anything, we happened to get the lemon. Mike diagnosed the problem correctly right away and ordered a new part for us from Mac's Auto Electric. My husband picked up the part and Mike came back and installed it for us. Great rates! Due to the size of our Class A, we always have to use a commercial repair shop; it was very convenient having Mike come to our home and not having to have our moho towed. Despite being on another job, Mike came out to our place 2 times and promptly fixed the problem. We can now leave on our trip :) Thanks for a job well done! We will use Mike again for our automotive repairs!

ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE!My class A motorhome broke down and Coastal Mobile came to repair it. They installed an incorrect A/C compressor, several brackets were cut and mis-aligned and an incorrect serpentine belt was installed. The repairs took a week and cost $1,400. A drive-shaft U-joint was welded and failed and power steering fluid was leaking, an hour after the RV was back on the road. I called and texted Coastal Mobile, but there was no reply. I was towed to another shop, where the mechanics discovered all the poor workmanship & incompetence of the Coastal Mobile service. I tried again to reach Coastal Mobile to discuss the poor job that they did, but they did not answer my calls and did not reply to me. I would not recommend Coastal Mobile to anyone. They are not skilled or professional. Their repairs caused me to drive a large vehicle in an unsafe condition, and no one should be put in such a position! They also caused more damage to my vehicle than good. AVOID Coastal Mobile Mechanical Services!!

Great guy. He dropped everything on a sunday cause I had a dump truck emergency to help.Helped me with some welding. Very happy.5 stars

Wouldn't even give this guy one star. He showed up and I left him to do and his thing outside my jobsite. He attempted to prime my diesel after it was parked on a hill and pulled air. I turned it on at the end of the day to idle and it suddenly died on me. Charged me 85 bucks, didn't fix a thing, spilt diesel all over the road, and to top it off when I called him about it - he said he would come by in the morning to come fix it free of charge. He didn't show up, and he blocked my number.Don't waste your time or your money on this guy.

Hired Mike Smith to weld some new spring mounts onto a trailer. He quoted me $150, but charged me $350. The welds didn't even last one trip and they started to break and separate. Honestly the sloppiest weld job I've ever seen. I was super lucky I checked it before taking it on a trip, as there is no doubt the trailer would have broken right off the axle and god knows what could have happened.I sent him a few emails and texts in an attempt to get it fixed, but he ignored all my messages.

My car overheated and I called to get my car looked at. The mechanic asked me to meet him at the parking lot under Staples Victoria. It took three hours to get the part and fix the coolant & thermostat. I noticed there was something leaking, he was defensive and said it was because he overfilled the coolant. We leave and within 10 mins the car is overheating, smoking and leaking something. We call the mechanic to look at the car again. He looks over the car and says he needs to get a part and that he would be back in 20 mins. An hour passed, we called him three times with no answer. We ended up calling a tow truck to take my car back to Duncan (as I'm not from Victoria). After two hours the mechanic finally calls back and says he had trouble finding the part hence why it took two hours. There was no communication until this point. He was also subtly rude by directing any answers or questions about my car to my boyfriend and not me, the owner of the car. Would not recommend.Posted the same review under Victoria Mobile Mechanic as this is the same mechanic, with two different buisness names.

The worst experience ever. He quoted me 5 hours and under $400 to change a power steering rack and it took him three weeks and $650. He didn't answer any phone calls when he answered by text he threatened me and told me he'd send it to me the way it was on a tow truck and that I'd need to have it towed to another shop because you can't drive it. The car came back I worse condition than when i gave it to him and the steering wheel was put on upside down! The whole experience was extremely upsetting and stressful. I would recommend you to stay away from this guy, he is an awful person.

Don't even bother. The Owner/Operator is extremely unreliable (having stood me up for FOUR appointments), behaves as if he's entitled to flexibility (as if he's the only one who has a schedule), and is quite rude (after I called him on dishonesty).As to the quality of his work, you wonder? Who knows, since he never showed up.My entire experience with Coastal Mobile mechanical services was an absolute waste of time and energy, neither of which i will ever get back.
