Soroptimist Intl of Victoria Westshore

Joining Soroptimist was the best gift I gave myself. Over the past 10 years I've been part of programs that get young women fired up about taking responsibility for their own futures; I've seen the wonder and joy in a single mom's face when she furnishes her new place entirely at Anney's Closet; I've heard from Live Your Dream Award winners about their journeys to finish their education and achieve economic independence. I've also joined in reducing barriers to education, like period poverty, and learned a ton. I have even attended virtual sessions at the UN as a member of Soroptimist. And maybe best of all - I have found a global network of friends, some of whom I have not met (yet!) but we share the bond of belief in equality. It's a great group of dynamic women full of ideas and fun.
