Thyme Restaurant

I have been to Thyme three times. Twice for lunch and once for dinner.Lunch was good but was disappointed in our recent dinner there. Fondue was very expensive for very little selection on it, chicken dish with risotto were thighs with bone in with skin on. Also steak was way overcooked. Our meals took a very long time to come and restaurant wasnt very busy.There was a jazz band playing but found the music to loud and had to talk above it. Felt like lunch was better bang for my buck.

Despite the Low ratings posted in the last couple of months, you HAVE to try this place out! I have wanted to come here for several months prior to my visit, and I am mad that I didn't come here sooner! Although the location of the restaurant might not appeal to many people, the ambiance feels very welcoming inside once you walk in! Even though this is a fine dining restaurant, you can dress casually for breakfast, then it becomes more upscale during lunch and dinner.I only came for breakfast, but, the breakfast I ordered is definitely the best I have ever eaten! The Eggs Benedict is divine, and even has their own homemade Hollandaise sauce, which tastes awesome! I can't find anything wrong with this place, and I will surely come here over and over again! (They are moving as of Aug 24th, 2018, and are moving to 42 Cumberland Street South, and will reopen September 1st!

Except for the lack of parking. I do believe there are a few spots in the back, everything was excellent. The atmosphere/decor were lovely. The food was amazing. I ate the without a doubt the best Eggs Benedict ever. It even came with fresh fruit. Child friendly. Great all-around experience.

Wonderful, relaxing place for an interesting, delicous original bite. The menu has so many great combinations, you can tell there is a little of the owners hearts in the menu. I had a hard time choosing what to order. Ended up drinking two Reviver Fruit Juices, wow delicious and refreshing! For breakfast I tried eggs Florentine, I was not dissapointed. The potatoes are really goodd. I have been driving across Canada on vacation, and this is the best meal I have had so far. The customer service was fabulous, a very nice lady (I think she was the owner) helped me figure out their menu. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town from San Francisco again. 10 stars for wonderful service, delicious food, really fair prices, and really good potatoes! They even give you a delicious mint chocolate, or tiny homeade cookie with your bill. Very good customer service, and excellent homeade food!

Easily the best breakfast I have had in my entire life. We had the eggs Benedict and the dill salmon cream cheese crepe both were fantastic. My fiancee and I have made this our new date place. Atmosphere is very clean and inviting very well decorated staff were super friends and like I said food is second to none. Thanks alot thyme we will be seeing you soon

Great staff and great brunch spot! The food is amazing, so flavourful and perfect portions !LOVE the place.. bit disappointed in them charging $1 for hot water.

Thyme was recommended to me while I’m visiting Thunder Bay, and I was not disappointed! The eggs Benedict was the best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had! At first was not going to order it because I was looking for a gluten free option, but then the owner (I think) advised me that a gluten free eggs Benedict was actually an option! I wish I could come back here everyday. Will definitely return next time I’m visiting! Excellent creamed earl grey tea as well. Highly recommend this adorable place.

Not fine dining... well, maybe mediocre dining. But, these potatoes are super cute. But I have to review because I do NOT understand all the rave reviews. The hollandaise sauce tasted prepackaged and not freshly made (or a very strange recipe that has a pastey texture). Traditional" came with ham instead of canadian bacon. Potato and berries portions super small. Very underwhelmed. Im usually stuffed when I go out to eat anywhere but I left hungry from here. Mostly friendly but impersonal service. (I had eaten not quite half of the portion when I took this photo :).) Also

Amazingly friendly, well presented waitress. Best breakfast I've had in Thunder Bay. Beautiful restaurant, decor is great and a lot of the original charm of the building had the Eggs Benedict and it was spot on, not to lemony like a lot of places these days. Price was good breakfast meals ranging from $11 for French toast to $14 for eggs Benedict with potatoes and fresh fruit. Made up a kids plate for the little one as well.

Beautiful decor, friendly wait staff and amazing food. I'll be back very soon.
