La Verns Market
I was very pleased to finally make it into LaVerns Market over the weekend. Small little grocery store with the kind of stuff you need in your pantry, high quality food and lots of staples. I disagree with the reviewer that said this place is “like a convenience store” the food is way better and way more interesting—some nice imported cheese and pasta—and enough fresh produce to do a grocery run here but without the florescent lights and bad smells that most major supermarkets have. I do agree that the mask wearing could be a bit more consistent, as per the other one star review (at least staff weren’t wearing chin diapers like in many other places in Windsor). Its a clean and pleasant place to shop. I’ll be back on a regular basis. Thanks.

Lovely place. Still a little sparse but I guess they are trying to determine what clients want. Prices are a little high, so unless I am absolutely in need of something, I will be sticking to my grocery store. Great idea for this area, but needs to be a little more competitive.

I have always seen the store clean and tidy but the prices have risen dramatically in recent months. The staffs are friendly and helpful. They usually offer random things, most likely to enhance sales, which most people dislike, especially when they want to buy in quiet. I've never seen a new manager at the store, which was not the case previously. Overall, the establishment is decent, with friendly employees, although the prices could be lower.

Really awesome little market! It combines local, gourmet and unusual food items with a lot of daily necessities at good prices with great service. Want to do something special for dinner? No problem. Treating yourself to a nice olive oil and GF pasta? Easy. Out of TP or laundry detergent? They got you. I was delighted to find my favourite vegan frozen pasta sauce at half the price it is in Toronto. The idea of having it delivered is super appealing these days too. Will look forward to coming back when next in town.

Produce and most stock are identical to what you'd find in a discount grocery store but is more expensive. Point of sale system didn't work with all produce we selected. Some locally prepared foods are sold here and the place looks nice, however I don't see any reason to go here over a regular grocery store (which is approximately 5 blocks away).

Soup is amazing. Pre-made sandwiches and salads are pretty good. But if I won't the LottoMax tomorrow could afford to stock my fridge here, and then maybe get a Taco down the road. Super pricey

Going downhill quickly. Original manager is gone. High turn-over. Prices too high. Low stock. Employees follow my around the store and try to upsale items. Owner is a known jerk in town.

Great selection of everyday items, spiced with the hard to find and distinctive choices. Frozen single chicken breasts to Italian drinks - with fine produce. A beautiful shop with fair prices.

Will have promotional/sale signs up & not honour the price, but it or don’t is what they say. Okay, I won’t. Some prices are high, but others are cheaper or comparable to other grocery stories. Produce often is damaged, rotten so have stopped picking it up. Went in looked for 4 items that they usually carry, but sold out. Forced to leave a backpack (that I use as a “carry all” or “purse”) at the front to grab a drink. Not worth the hassle. Place has gone downhill. Probably won’t last much longer.
