RiverRock Inn & Conference Centre
This was the absolute worst experience. While staying at the river rock inn there was no soap, shampoo, or towels. If you ask for soap during your stay you’ll either get a sliver they’ve cut from a larger bar or be asked to buy soap from the selection they sell at the front desk. There is no one to ask for any service. The front desk regularly displayed a “be back in two minutes” sign. The front desk was left unattended for an entire Saturday night during our stay. Guests were trading for the missing items in their rooms on Saturday night in the lobby after 30 minutes of waiting for hotel assistance (towels, shampoo, soap, etc.) since there was no one to provide the guests the things they needed. When we disputed charges they proceeded to add various other charges. The VP Priscilla was an absolute pain to deal with. When asking to dispute the charges she would hide in the office while getting the manager Suzanne to speak with us. This took place the entire morning we were checking out. We walked away from the front desk being explicitly told there was no additional charges on our account and then our credit card was charged later without our consent. When coming back to the desk asking to understand the charges Suzanne acknowledged she should not have charged our credit card without our consent but Priscilla approved the charge but is unavailable to explain why she did that.Do not book at this place! You will regretit.

Even public washrooms in a public park or in a rest area provide soap but this hotel did not provide soap to our guests. One of our guests booked a suite specifically so it could fit their small family and it did not have enough space to fit the baby stroller. The bridal suite we booked for our wedding was supposed to have a river view and there was no river view. When our guests went down for breakfast, there was no coffee made. The breakfast was not a full breakfast anyway and was missing basic things like cream for coffee. Our guests asked the hotel staff 3 times to make the coffee that morning and the staff did not make it. Our guests ended up making the coffee themselves.

I recently stayed here for a wedding weekend. There was a shuttle scheduled to leave the RiverRock at 3:00pm for the wedding. We arrived at 2:15pm. The front counter told us we couldn't check in until 3:30pm (30 minutes after the wedding shuttle was due to leave), unless we paid a $35 early check-in fee. The room was already prepared when we got there, so the RiverRock staff didn't have to do anything extra to let us check in at 2:15pm. It was just a quick money grab to pocket an extra $35. They made an extra $35, but cost themselves any chance of my family ever returning to this establishment. There are better hotels in the area that actually care about keeping their customers happy. Also, as many people have already mentioned in other reviews... this place doesn't provide soap. SOAP, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. You have to purchase soap in the front lobby if you want to stay clean during your visit to this germ infested establishment.I bet even the Bates Motel provided soap free of charge to their guests.

Awful experience. Have been over charge in excess of $600, after multiple calls/email still no refund or response from management. Staff were unhelp and unpleasant. Extra details:#1 A week after checking out for our single night stay I noticed we were double charged for our room. ($212 x2). Called in, staff confirmed they could see double charge in system, took my details, said management would be in touch. Another week later I called in again, because no one had been in touch with me and no refund had happened... AND I discovered there was a new charge on my card for $424. A total of $637 in extra charges. The front desk rep couldn't process a refund, even though there is proof we only stayed a single night, because his manager is really particular about things like that". So now I continue to wait. With a credit card that is now over it's limit.#2 We booked RiverRock because we were going to a wedding

On our trip to Montreal on Christmas Eve, 2022, the snow, shutdown all roads from Ottawa. At the, less than halfway point from Ottawa, we got turned around. We quickly had to find a Hotel and found the River Rock Inn in Rockland. The woman that was working the front desk was fantastic. She was suddenly hit with all of the other travelers that were looking for rooms for the night. She handled it very well. She was very friendly and polite and made our stay fantastic. I strongly recommend this hotel and in particular I commend the woman that helped us out that night.

I booked 2 nights in this place and that was my biggest mistake of my life. When I checked in I found my hospitality sweat changed from a king bed with separate room with sofa bed and kitchenette to a room with 2 queen beds, I tried to speak with the receptionist she said that's all we have, look like somebody made a mistake and gave you this room instead, I had to take the room they gave me as it was 11 pm and I was driving long distance to reach the Inn. Inside the wash room no soap to wash your hand, then we found out you need soap, you buy a bar for $2. All what I can say, no customer service, no honor for the room you book, they give you any room, very cheap place.

We arrived at 2:50pm in hopes of checking in prior to the 3:05pm wedding shuttle. We were told that there would be a $35 check-in fee so we opted to leave our things in our car and check-in at 2am when we returned. Upon checking-in, the room seemed nice and only realized once getting out the shower that there were no bath towels, only little hand towels and face cloths, so we used those. There was also no body wash/soap, just hand soap at the sink, shampoo and conditioner. In the morning, the continental breakfast selection was laughable. Other than those things, the hotel was nice and clean, but wouldn't stay here again.

BRIDES, STAY AWAY - DON’T HAVE YOUR WEDDING HERE! This was a horrible and stressful experience. Every single member of staff we had the displeasure of dealing with was rude, dismissive, and provided the worst customer service I have ever seen. Weddings are stressful enough and the person responsible for the wedding coordination, the hotel VP, is extremely argumentative, unprofessional, and aggressive. She will take 3-5 weeks to respond to your simplest questions which adds unnecessary stress to the wedding planning. She blames others when she drops the ball on something or will lie and say you cancelled something when she actually messed up.Brides, don’t waste your time and energy here - go anywhere else for your wedding. Add to this the poor treatment your guests will receive if they stay in the hotel. Your guests will have to fight to get their rooms cleaned, will be charged extra charges on their credit cards, and will not have the most basic items in their rooms like soap. Our guests were told the hotel was out of soap and they had to purchase soap - how ridiculous in the middle of a pandemic! The most basic thing a hotel can provide is soap. Have your guests stay in the hotels available in Orleans - they are better priced and will have better customer service. As for the owners of this place - do you know that all of your staff (from front desk to admin to housekeeping) are providing the worst customer service possible? Your staff are running your business into the ground. Are you actively trying to go out of business? Don’t you have any pride in your business?
