The bottled aji for the empanadas is really good! Worth the buy! Wish they gave little cups of it when you buy empanadas to eat fresh. Bought tonnes of frozen empanadas for those hankerings. Also got the frozen buñuelos but haven’t tried them yet. Great service at the counter and enjoyed the experience. Tasted great!

Everything here is amazing. Highly recommend the churros (filled with dulce de leche), empanadas, and papusas (in the picture). We live a 3 minute walk away and go here often, never disappoints, healthy comfort food!

Wonderful atmosphere here. Amazing owners. One of the most cozy restaurant/cafes I've ever been to. It's incredibly interesting stepping into such authentic Colombian cooking and pastries. The churros are to die for! Whenever I'm walking Ottawa street it is always a blessing to have such a warm and welcoming place!

One of my favourite places in hamilton. The pupusas are my favourite lunch meal. It’s temporarily closed until they find a new location. I hope they can re-open soon, especially on Ottawa St. We miss you!

I love Columbian Food! This little hole in the wall did not disappoint. The Beef Empanadas were just as I remembered from my time on the Caribbean coast. The chicken breast, rice, kidney beans and plantain were likewise close to memory. This is an order at the counter type place with very helpful and friendly service. As a side note, I would have givin 4-5 stars if it was licensed and depending on the tap selection. It would totally take this meal to the next level if you could pair with an Aguila or a Poker. Also, if they offered a table service rather than that of the counter variety, the staff would be able to reap the benefits of gratuities.

Calipan has authentic, Colombian food as bread, pastries, and snacks. We tried empanadas, almonjabanas and buñuelos, very tasty. They have a variety of drinks as juice and coffee, we had cappuccino and passion fruit juice, both were delicious and freshly made, the service was superb!
