The spray park is close to the playground so if you have someone that doesn't like to get wet they still can play and have fun. Down fall is that bathrooms are not always available - like most public parks

Nice park, about a city block in size.Trees, grass, benches, picnic tables, water splash park for kids. Slides & swings, sand pit and some other play apparatus.Clean tidy & well maintained. Good little neighborhood place.

Located in a quiet residential area and surrounded by trees, it is one of the best spray parks I have ever been. Enough grass, a barbecue place, and some spots covered by shadow: it has always been a refreshing moment for us. Until I find something better on the East side, this is my place to go.

Oh Thornton park, we loved you as kids running through your spray park. And even at night it didn't seem so dark. It is this way because the smiles on the children kept it light beyond the day.Dear Thornton Park, yes it's true, that you, have taught kids how to play anew.

As much as I dislike sand as the ground for playgrounds, Thornton Park is one of my favourite places to take the kids in the summer. It's got the playground (swings, slides, monkey bars), a basketball court and one of the best splash parks in the city. Ideal summer spot.

Basketball court, splash park, swings and play structure appropriate for young kids. Great place even without the splash area.

The spray park is perfect on a hot day. A playground with a sand base is a fun break too. My favorite part of this park is the big trees that offer lots of shade. They also host kids programming in the summer with crafts and things. The bathrooms are only open when programming is on though.

Thornton Park is a great summer weekend stop with the kids. The splash park and playground are a good size, and there is a ton of green space- shaded and in the sun. While it definitely gets busy on hot days, I've never seen it too full".My only complaint is that they don't always have the bathrooms open- which can be a deal breaker with younger children."

Poorly designed spray park. All the benches are within splash range (one is even in the spray path) so not a lot of places to sit. The slope of the ground leads to water in the grass so can't even sit there without getting wet. The dry asphalt is burning kids feet but the kids seem to be having a good time. The playground looks like a hit. Nice shaded (dry) areas to sit. Sand is more like rocks though.
