Downlow Chicken Shack
This fried chicken shack ruined other fried chicken for me forever!!!!! Yes it’s hard to find parking, minimal seating, sometimes lengthy waits, expensive (compared to what though? It’s Vancouver) but it’s so worth it. The fried chicken is always juicy and perfecy seasoned, the skin is so crispy. The pickles are seasoned too and it’s so good. If you just get chicken to go, they’ll put it on bread to absorb the oil which is genius. The crinkle cut fries are delicious and I like to alternate between ketchup and DL sauce. Because of the price, this is more of a big scheduled treat than a convenient stop for me but I look forward to it!

You are in Vancouver: GO THERE!We went during our short stay in Vancouver and it was a great experience. We went as a family and got a great applause from the whole team as we're first-timers. So nice!Even if you are hungry as we were, don't order too much at a time. The boxes are fully packed with great delicious food!

This is one of the greatest fast food places I have ever visited. From the food, to the service, to the atmosphere, it's all wonderful. It's incredibly unique and the chicken is perfect. I highly recommend visiting this place for a meal as it will be well worth your time.

Go right now, then take all your friends. Seriously the best fried chicken I’ve had in Vancouver. Can be hard to get a seat inside but there is outdoor seating. Ask for the Waffle Slider (off menu item $18)

We ordered the OG sandwich, 2 pieces and fries. The food was sooo good as the chicken was soft, flavourful and has nice herb fragrance. 2 pieces come with honey bread in the bottom and tasty pickle. We seriously prefer this over any other chicken fast food out there. It’s a must try. The white dipping sauce is also amazing. It’s a bit of a mess when eating the sandwich tho but soooo worth it…it was really good that we forgot to take the photo before taking the first bite.

Visited this place 2 weeks agoIt’s mostly crowded throughout the yearThey have quite a selection of fried chicken and fried chicken sandwiches.Lot of spice options to choose from.I have tried their Chicken Thigh / Fried chicken Burger with Jerk spice.Spice levels are good. Quality of chicken is great.Highly Recommend this place if you are chicken lover.Very Limited indoor seating. They have outdoor seating as well

This is a ‘best-seller Chicken place’. It’s located along Commercial Drive corner of Venables Street.We got the OG Sando Combo (with in-house coleslaw & sauce), crispy chicken skin, french fries (with special sauce) side dishes, and handmade Lemonade. The chicken is juicy, tender, and very flavourful - the best chicken sandwich I have ever tasted. The fries have a special spice craveable to the palate. Their in-house DL sauce is super yummy. Both the sandwich and fries are huge portions.Staffs are friendly, service is excellent. Limited indoor/outdoor seating space. Be ready for a long queue. Street parking can be a challenge. Will definitely be back. Try Downlow Chicken Shack, you can’t go wrong.

Downlow Chicken Shack
After waiting in a long line, I finally ordered the OG chicken sando combo with fries and both come with super hot spicy level. It actually was really spicy not a Tobasco-level spicy but scorching spicy which I personally like. The chicken is crispy and halal. I asked the staff and they said they cooked it separately from bacon. I wish they gave more slaw on it but it’s something that I’ll come and try again.

Chicken either in the sandwich or the one served separately is perfectly cooked and flavored.Sandwich comes with their in-house coleslaw, sauce, and the bun tends to hold them pretty well along with the big chicken piece. I had the lemon pepper sandwich, which can be served with either a breast or leg meat, and it was not too hot. I tried the jerk chicken with the fries, and it was hot but very good, though. The size of the sandwich is good, and it would suggest getting the fries only if a couple of people are willing to share them.They have a small seating in the restaurant and outside, and I would suggest to try having the food over there as the food might suffer if you try to hold it for long (carry-out).
