Homewood Suites by Hilton Burlington

If you’re reading this to consider staying at the Burlington Homewood Suites, I’d like to share our family’s experience from the past few days. As a whole, the staff was pleasant throughout, but the functional problems compounded. In sum, our stay was NOT comfortable and we would NOT recommend this place.Upon arrival into our room, we found the fitted bed sheet for the sofa bed missing, half of the stove elements broken, and an unpleasant mix of lingering odours in the washroom.As we settled into using our kitchen, I couldn’t find any liquid detergent, so I went down to get some from the front desk, only to be told that I’d have to purchase it or use the provided dish washer powder. How strange! All the other Homewood Suites we’ve stayed at equipped their kitchens fully. Wasn’t liquid dish detergent standard? Like soap and shampoo? Eventually, front desk handed me some complimentary, but only after what I thought to be an unwarranted, long discussion.Then morning came, and to my shock, we were served leftovers for breakfast. Yes, leftovers! I couldn’t believe it, either! Never had I experienced a breakfast like this at any hotel, Hilton or otherwise! The bagels, bacon, sunflower seeds, and fruit salad were all plainly stale, and the muffins were burnt. The French toast, though it was the only fresh hot item available, was soggy, because it had been soaking in a pool of condensation from an overly-heated warmer. Worse yet, the coffee urn was empty. And, forks were missing. What a stark statement of inhospitality!So, I complained. Clarence, the hotel manager, immediately attended to the situation, verified the subpar breakfast, apologized, and compensated by adding points on our honours member status. The next morning, a different kitchen crew—one slotted for weekends—took over. This time, the lead kitchen staff, Jacklyn, and her assistant, served a much better breakfast. But, even then, the menu was short on staples like fresh fruit.As we packed to leave, my husband, who’d grown quite sick of the washroom odours, lifted the seat of the toilet to be repulsed at the sight of brown and yellow stains, dried up and caked on there (probably, long before we’d arrived.) At that, I also pointed to an old seal from a nicotine patch stuck to the base of the shower door. (We don’t smoke.) Mystery solved: The washroom reek had been caused by the lingering nicotine plus toilet underside-seat scum. Eew...inexcusably unhygienic!By the end, we hurried to leave the Burlington Homewood Suites. The obvious misses by housekeeping, along with the obvious misses by kitchen staff, plus the obvious misses by maintenance (half working stovetop) made for an altogether uncomfortable stay. No thank you ever again! Although I acknowledge and appreciate the apologies, plus attempts to amend mistakes—one too many of them amounts to a complete write-off.If I were you: Book elsewhere.

Super clean amazing hotel. So friendly. Pool and hot tub were awesome . Bed was like sleeping on clouds.

The decor and actual building seems a little bit old, but it also was clean, which helps with that. Everything was there in the rooms but it seemed a bit spartan. The pull-out couch was not very comfortable, but it was nice to have separate rooms to house more than the husband and wife, so as to afford a bit of privacy. There was only one bathroom and that was accessible through the main bedroom. Fine, but two bathrooms would have been better. There were only cheap pillows for the pull-out; really, I would have expected the same quality pillows for that as the main bedroom, which were lovely.It was not inexpensive to stay here, so ... I have to say that the breakfast was superb (and complimentary), and all servers were beyond polite, friendly and helpful in every way! Well done! As well, the front desk staff was the same. Public relations: A++Overall, a nice overnight in somewhat of a last minute emergency due to the weather and car trouble!

Want to feel like at home? Choose this place. They got small kitchen in the bedroom with cooking utensils. You can also enjoy going to swimming pool. The complimentary breakfast was so far so good as compared to other hotels. It is only 40 minutes drive to Toronto if you plan on visiting.

Hotel is nice, location is a bit out of the way. Good restaurants are in walking distance but late at night, not sure I would want to make the trek. Grab an Uber and you have plenty of options within 5 minutes.Staff at the hotel are fantastic and will ensure all your needs and requests are taken care of.

Not impressed. First room was on the 5th floor. Musty carpet scent. Kind staff was great at giving us another room on the 6th floor. Musty hallway scent but the room was better. Some fixtures like pot lights in the kitchen were loose, rusty toilet paper holder, horrible grout and caulking in the shower and a light fixture that doesn’t work even after changing a light bulb. It’s obvious that this hotel was made to look good from the outside but it’s in need of a refresh. A little attention from Hilton corporate is needed here. Worst part was the pool. Cloudy colour, no smell of chlorine. It would appear that the pool was not drained and cleaned in a while. My children look forward to swimming while away as we don’t have a pool at home. Big disappointment Hilton.

There are lots of positives about this hotel but if i’m being honest There was to much noise coming from the elevator all day & night that we could hear in our room, breakfast was not edible, one of the staff at front desk gave attitude… he also gave me a kork screw that i had asked for but asked me to bring it back so he could give it to other people which i personally find unsanitary.We discovered a toe nail in our jacuzzi so decided not to use it…there was no room service of any kind, if you needed something you had to walk down to pick it up, housekeeping doesn’t pick up the phone as well and everyone from the hall will hear your conversation’s because the rooms are not sound proofed at all.it was my faiences birthday weekend and wished we had booked somewhere else this time.again there are some great things about this place but this time, not impressed… Wish i had gotten my moneys worth.. I don’t see myself coming back here again.

The hotel was very clean in all locations. Everything was good except the mattress on the side with the clock. Full apartment size refrigerator, dishwasher full of everything you would need. Free Hot morning breakfast, and evening food on Tuesday and Wednesday. Pre-cooked food in warmers, does not compare with fresh cooked restaurant food but free hot food is nice if you do not feel like going out to eat.

We stayed here on a Saturday night in November, and wanted a quiet place in preparation for a competition nearby the following day. The staff at check in are exceptional; they are attentive, friendly, professional and efficient. They pointed out the grocery area next to the reception area (which is terrific) and outlined the breakfast schedule and directions to our suite.The hotel is six storeys, and our request for a one bedroom suite was met without issue. The suite is large with full fridge, range and counter area with kitchen sink, plus dishwasher and coffee/tea maker. The washroom has a tub as well as shower, and two televisions are provided.There are plenty of charging outlets available, on the work table as well as on the wall. Parking is plentiful out front and at the side of the building.What a quiet spot! What a bonus!We will definitely be back in future.

We stayed while our house was on the real estate market. We did not want to be separated from our dog and we all enjoyed a little bit of Home" here at the Homewood suites. The staff was excellent
