Caviar Direct

There’s no doubt about the product however the customer service person was incredibly rude. I show up and I ask him if he’s got any salmon caviar, he turns around completely annoyed and angry as if he is being forced to do his job. I ask for the product, he says you have to pay with cash, when I see a POS machine right on his countertop. But I don’t want to start an argument with him so I literally go grab some cash from the ABM and pay for the goods. I don’t understand how they can let someone like that work for them there. It’s really disappointing when the whole customer experience is completely ruined by some twisted attitude.

hi : l had the pleasure of buying smoked salmon from a good friend salesperson Howard who have been there for a long time ; always good serivce and quality good salmon lox for my meals ... the salmon tastes so good and fresh ; l go out of my way to go to st lawrence market for this !excellent and good quality fish and cavier and service from cavier direct !

The salmon from there is terrible, and probably double the cost of any normal grocery store that sells similar products. The caviar we did get was really good, but the employee seems to actually know nothing about the product and could not even describe any flavours just made a stupid 30 to 300 dollar bottle of wine reference.

If I was giving a review of the product only I bought it would be a 5 plus star. But staff don’t seem to value the customer spending under $40. I know everything is expensive here, I’ve completely enjoyed the Indian Candy as they call it and other cured salmon but any time I try and order 25$ I get the eye-roll well if you want for $45 we have these vacuum packed ones that are a better value. Ok but I consider this a treat and even spending $25 is more than enough for one person. I’d love to ask about caviar because I’ve never had it before and have always been curious but I’m sure I’d need to approve a credit report to even ask about the pricing, so I’ll just continue to feel like a pauper and enjoy a product I’ve never been able to find in a comparable quality anywhere. Sometimes money does buy better but treating customers like humans also counts.Update August 5. Based on the ownership responding and corresponding I am changing this review to a 4/5

If you're going to charge those prices for smoked salmon then you need to let customers taste what you're offering. All of our packages are sealed" is an excuse to prey upon consumers' lack of knowledge. The only appropriate response is "I'd be happy to open something for you! Which one would you like to try?""

Fantastic place, really great customer service! I knew nothing about Caviar when I went to buy a gift for my brother in law who is one of the best chef’s in Toronto which means I needed to understand a bit about what I was buying for him and they were really good about it. They educated me a bit on the different types of Caviar they carry, where they’re from and what makes them good, and made recommendations based on who I was buying for. They also had some fantastic Truffle Oil that I will no doubt be back for. Bottom line, for Caviar, these are the guys you want to go to.

Very nice selection of caviar and smoked salmon. I come here at least twice a week as part of my grocery shopping.
