I have been a customer of Herman's for many years. This is a store which caters to contractors many of whom, like myself, are repeat customers day-in-day-out. The store gets pretty busy in the spring and fall but I have seen them go out of their way to help homeowners who are seeking information or simply to shop for their residential job. Overall this is a good business with good managers and service Personnel in the store

Picked up some roofing supplies. I usually get all my materials at the local building center but decided to stop at Hermans after driving past it for the last 5 years. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. No pressure selling and got me everything I needed for less $ than the big box stores. Also brought the forklift right out to the trailer. Didn't need to hand bomb it myself. Will be back

Materials were provided damaged, it took 6 times contacting the company and threatening small claims court before someone took the time to speak to me and passed the blame off anyways.

Showed up to the jobsite to find all the bundles loaded on the ground (paid for them to be loaded on the roof). I called 5 times to get an explanation and it constantly went to voicemail. Left messages and messages, no response. Finally got through to them, and the employee on the phone started to argue with me and continued to be disrespectful. Conversation ended with him hanging up on me. Terrible customer service. Once I get my refund, I will not be coming back.

Needed 2 bundles of shingles to fix roof after a big wind storm. Well, so did a lot of other people too. I arrived at the store at 11 am on a Saturday. The doors were locked (even though they were 'open' until 12). There were so many people that they locked the door so that they could leave by 12.I understand that people have plans and need to be places, but I think it would have been better for their business to at least keep the door open until 12. There were so many people that were coming to their store that left upset and went across the street to Lowes (and will probably do the same thing next time as well...I know I won't go back).

Left swiftly after feeling unwelcomed and under served. The customer service employee was uninterested in helping/answering questions, like we were a nuisance for even being in there. More so a glorified warehouse for in-stock inventory, would avoid it if you're looking for good service or helpful advice. Other reviews about the lackluster customer service are well founded.

I went today with the gentleman who was sliding my house for supplies. Once home he discovered they forgot one piece. When he went back with the bill they refused to give it to him insisting they put it in the order. I had to return with him for them to believe him wasting his time and mine. The rude woman working at the front counter asked if we had seen the sign telling customers to check their order before they left. This means they screw up a lot of orders. As well, when we went the first time asked asked about the siding on the second she insisted she couldn’t leave the counter but when we returned she was outside smoking. Worst customer service will not return.
