Widgawa Lodge & Outfitters

Widgawa lodge provided us with one of the best experience. Stacy and John accommodated us for arriving late, make sure we were sell settled in. John was quite a story teller and shared with us many tips and tricks for back country camping. It is a welcoming lodge and I will definitely come back again.

As you exit the highway, a meandering, tree-lined path delivers you to a truly special place. Nestled among pines and maples, Widgawa Lodge is a true 'diamond in the rough'. The owners and staff are friendly, thoughtful and welcoming. While the hundred year-old cabins are definitely rustic, they are equipped with electricity and hot running water. Furthermore, a short ride down the river brings you to a vast network of lakes in which the fishing is phenomenal and the scenery, gorgeous. And all of this is only fifteen minutes from modern amenities in the town of Espanola!If you're looking for a relaxing getaway in a picturesque setting, you've found it. Five stars

Had a great fishing weekend with some neighbourhood friends! Lots of bass and northern pike. The staff and owners were delighful (to the point we invited them to our fish fry) Over the top touch was that I had a trailer light get damaged on the way up and they fixed it before I could even get to it! (Can't beleive they even noticed it let alone to repair it!!) Place was quiet, peacful and so beautiful! Can not wait to go back in August!!

Amazing lodge. Been coming here for years and the new owners are awesome. This is an awesome access point for the nicest wilderness in Ontario if not the world! Stacy and Jon are super organized and can customize anything for you. If you've never been to Grace lake get them to water taxi you there for the day!

We car camped here before our trip into Killarney park. Excellent place to stay before launching canoes to Killarney. We got canoe and portage tips, as well as park updates such as water levels and dam impacts. John set up a cozy fire for us to stay warm while watching the stars. Flush toilets and showers on site.

A couple of close friends and I decided to go back into Killarney this year and as usual we decided to use Widgawa Lodge.Ownership has changed since my last trip in the area and we had an absolutely amazing experience.Darren, Stacy, John and Chase were all extremely helpful and hospitable during our stay, a great environment to spend a night before or after your adventures.They have made some great improvements to the grounds, like adding a new road and a new docking area, it makes getting ready for your trip a lot easier.Myself and my group were extremelypleased with how welcoming and generous the crew at the lodge was during our stay!I would highly recommend using Widgawa Lodge as an access point, outfitters or even for a few nights in a cabin. They have some gorgeous new canoes, all in great shape!Again a big thank you to the team at Widgawa Lodge for helping make this trip happen!

Great experience!A true gem in the wilderness.We stayed a night in cabin 6 and then rented canoes for our 5 day Killarney trip.John was fantastic and the whole experience was seamless.

This is our third time at Widgawa - first time since new owners took over. Stacy and John are the same fabulous staff as last summer. Excellent service, clear explanations about how to return rentals etc, and complete disclosure about prices and charges before we sign up for a rental. Today we used their water taxi service to get access to Grace Lake and Nelly Lake. Both John and Stacy we ready for us at our agreed upon 8am start time. Our equipment was ready and the taxi ride on the pontoon boat was a pleasure. Stacy made sure we had map and John ensured we knew what the trails would be like. We had a wonderful day and John was there to pick us up at 5pm to taxi us back to the cottages. The resort is rustic, quiet and very well managed. Highly recommend!

Quaint cabins, very hospitable hosts and great bass fishing.
