Heather Campbell Piano Teacher

I feel very lucky to have Heather as my teacher. I’ve learned a lot in my three years with Heather and look forward to my lesson every week. She has never made me feel bad and has encouraged me to take on new challenges.

I have been taking piano lessons from Ms. Campbell over the past three years. She is very passionate about helping her students to achieve their goals. Her knowledge, patience and empathy combine to extract maximum potential from the student in a calm and relaxed setting. Her feedback is always oriented towards finding positives aspects of the performance within the context of helping the student to attend to areas that need improvement. This is done is a very thoughtful and analytical approach. Heather is a great teacher who excells at the art of music pedagogy. Thank you Heather.

We have two boys taking lessons with Heather. They have been taking lessons for a few years and have had 4 teachers in total. Heather is the best, by far. She takes the time to get to know them and their preferences and quirks. She works with them to improve their strength and to patiently correct them where required. She pays attention to all aspects - their posture, hand and finger placement, technique, etc. She has the perfect balance of firmness, kindness, fun, and structure. We are so happy to have found her and thrilled to see the advances they have made with her in just one year.

Heather is the best piano teacher I have ever had!I am working on my Grade 10 RCM as a mature student; Heather is very experienced and knowledgeable on how to approach the many different styles in my repertoire. Heather has literally changed the way I play piano. Each lesson is filled with a lot of growth and insight and I am impressed with how well she communicates tough concepts.I am moving to a new neighborhood soon, but it will be worth the extra drive to take lessons from Heather Campbell.

I started taking piano lessons with Heather for about a year, and I'm so glad I did! She is an amazing teacher who is very patient and knowledgeable. She explains concepts clearly and makes sure I understand them before moving on. She also tailors the lessons to my interests and goals, which makes learning the piano so much more enjoyable.

Heather is an amazing piano teacher. She is highly knowledgeable, dedicated, and passionate about her work. She finds an individual approach to her students. Heather doesn’t just teach piano techniques (which she does phenomenally well), she instills sensitivity and emotional expression in her students. Very rarely do we come across a piano teacher that doesn't just teach how to play the piano but also teaches music. To me, Heather is undoubtedly one of those teachers.What first stood out to me was her genuine passion for music. During our first lesson, Heather immediately saw the musical potential behind the piece we worked on, which far surpassed what I previously thought was possible. Yet even more so, Heather is very dedicated to unlocking her student's capacity for artistic expression and ability to play with intention. Her lessons are always clear and strike a perfect balance between the process of hearing the musical/emotional detail and translating it onto the keys. I also cannot overstate how valuable Alexander Technique is for any pianist. Without it, I would not have been able to overcome some of the most technically challenging sections of the piece.Most important of all, she listens to the student. Heather wants to understand what you hear and the reasonings behind your playing approach, a trait not many music teachers have. In fact, I had the most fun exchanging musical insights with her, and it was through those discussions that I was able to play more beautifully.Under her tutelage, I made vast improvements in my playing and learned more about the piece than I ever knew before.
