SmartyPantz Escape Rooms | Vancouver

Great time! Unlike typical escape rooms you're not locked in and you have to use your mind to solve clues to solve the room. The staff come out in costume and are HILARIOUS. To get into the building they made our group finish a popular song over the intercom. I really appreciated little touches like that which already had things off to a fun start before we even went inside. I'll definitely be going back!

Excellent room. I did the dream room with coworkers and it was really professionally put together. The person showing us to the room was in character which set the scene well. Great room for multiple people to work on things simultaneously and the room was pretty fair save for one puzzle IMO. We got through 80% of the room with a group I'd say is decent at escape rooms

The whole experience from start to finish was a blast. The staff are extremely entertaining and the in-character mission briefing really helps you get into the mindset. The room itself was really cool and you can tell they put a lot of thought and effort into building the narrative and creating a unique room. We found the room to be a nice balance of challenging and playful. Already planning on coming back in a couple weeks! Update - went back again last night and had another great experience. The staff are really friendly and help make the experience so thoroughly enjoyable.

I took my daughter and her 3 friends (all age 11) to the Morning Never Comes room. The level of difficulty was very good for our group. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room is not actually locked, which also worked out well for one of the girls who was a bit nervous and liked the opportunity to come out for a little breather a couple of times. Our host" wasn't dressed up in any particular way

Was enjoyable. My family did the 'casual' difficulty and we finished right at the buzzer. The puzzles were well designed and I wouldn't mind going again for another. The casual is perfect if you haven't done a room before and want to know how it all works without feeling overly frustrated. Staff was very nice as well.

i do not recommend this placeFor my experience, the room that i did (Spies and lies) was probably the worst room I’ve ever done (and I’ve done more rooms than I can even recall).Most of the puzzles did not follow any form of logic and were very few in number. At some point you have to open a safe and let’s just say that the way to find some of the numbers to open it do not make sense at all. Furthermore, we were told not to force stuff open or to move heavy furniture even though in the end, both were needed. Not only that, but there were so many useless items in the room that we had no idea which we had to use to solve a certain puzzle, and even then we had no idea what the puzzle was as there were no instructions pointing us in any solid directions.Honestly, I have no idea why others who’ve done this room give it 5 stars (unless maybe it’s their first room ever?).The best part was definitely the staff as they were really nice. However, they were also confused about the answers to their own puzzles when trying to explain to us how to solve them.If you are looking for a fun escape room, I recommend Find & Seek which is also in Vancouver. That place was such an awesome surprise and definitely the highlight of our week in Vancouver. The puzzles there are so creative and ingenious that they left us speechless and completely in love with the place.

Escape room was a bit too easy.Nice set up though, and nice acting for the staff. It was a bit too much but it is a nice touch and a lot of efforts and heart put in it.Central location is nice, maybe do a multi room thing could be great.Will accommodate large groups (10+) which is nice, but then, too easy as too many people are working on several aspects of the room.Maybe do 1 or 2 bonus calls instead of 3 when you are 10+ group ? :)

This is an OK place. It is $50/room, which is a little bit on the higher end, if you want to bring only one friend.The riddles are fun, a bit abstract sometimes, but not super difficult.A refreshing experience after E-Exit and other franchises because of the followings:- The Smartypantz experience is more personalized. The member of the staff who escorts you into the room acts as well, which is really funny and helps to get into the zone. I have not seen such a thing in any other escape rooms in Vancouver.- During the experience when you ask for help on the radio, the acting continues.- The place is small and cute, the staff is friendly, it felt like they really wanted us to have a nice experience in compared to some of the bigger escape rooms, where I sometimes get the sense of gtfo from the staff once were are out.

They were very accommodating. We booked only an hour in advance and the booking process was really convenient. I appreciated that they charge based on room, not the number of people attending. Unfortunately, our group found that the room just didn't have the same cohesive feel to the puzzles that we had with other escape rooms. It would be great if there were more puzzles in each room. Regardless, it's still a good time nonetheless, we were just disappointed with the number of puzzles in the submarine room, specifically.

Fun escape games. Did their mid-tier stuff and was a little disappointed at how quick the puzzle was. It could have stood to have one or two more steps. Felt quite simple compared to some of the others we had done. Worth a try though and if you're a beginner their beginner rooms are great!
