The fort was not open, but the view is just spectacular. It has a 360 view of the entire area in aulac, very peaceful and calm. The evening sunset view is just awesome. They have maintained it so good, that you can walk through the entire fort and and the greenery around it. Air is really fresh to breath in and there is an opportunity to set up campfire and set up a camping area too.I would definitely revisit this place again. Just for the feel and the fresh air.

This was a last minute stop on a long road trip and turned out to be very enjoyable. We were pulling an RV but plenty of parking made for a relaxing stop. The Fort allows dogs (except for inside buildings) so that was a huge bonus for our fur family. The history was interesting and the scenery was beautiful.

Love visiting these old forts. Lots of grassy area on an open hill. Great for some kids to run around and see some history but perfect for anyone who likes some history. Really interesting when thinking the French and English could see each other from opposing fortresses.

Beware that this fort is now occupied by a force mightier than the British & the French combined. It is now garrisoned by a legion of Mighty Canadian Mosquitoes. These are hardier than the usual garden variety you get everywhere. Even the wind and the drizzle could not stop their precision guided attacks. We had to cut our outside visit short because of that (there are a couple of wells around that may be the mosquitoes own barracks). The museum and the staff were great and the flying nuisances aside, this is an amazing place to visit. Specifically liked the various tableaus depicting the life in and around the fort in different eras.
