Kumon Math and Reading Centre of Kitchener - Pioneer Village

I am disappointed with their unprofessional education. Educators has no pedagogy! There is no good, helpful communication with parents. Even though we mentioned our expectations several times they do whatever they want! You must wait your children at the outside until your children done, because they have no consistent working time with students! One time I found my children crying outside when I came to pick up her! They have no control with children after they are done. Staff said they were busy which is not a good excuse! They do not care customer satisfaction! The only they care is money! I would try another center! Moreover, when you read reviews you can easily notice some fake 5 star rating! As a summary, I do not recommend! Do not waste your time and money!

I did a lot of research about the Kumon centres in Kitchener before selecting and enrolling my son in the Kumon Math program at the Kitchener-Pioneer Village centre. I selected this centre because Corina and the staff are very dedicated and support every child, letting all students fully benefit from the program. As a former university lecturer, I highly appreciate how well structured and organized the Kumon Math program is. The program helps students master math concepts and teaches them how to write out a full, detailed solution presenting all of their steps. This give students an edge in competitive math contests like the CEMC Math contests from the University of Waterloo. Corina always has the time to discuss with parents and regularly encourages students to get in the habit of doing Kumon booklets daily. The Kumon helpers there are always ready to explain and correct students' mistakes. I highly recommend this Kumon centre and I encourage every parent to help their children complete all of the levels of the Kumon Math program, including the elective levels. Any student that completes the Kumon Math program will be very well prepared for university or college programs. Lastly, the awards, medals, and certificates offered by the Kumon Math program motivate students to do more and complete the program faster. Please keep up the great work.

Kumon Math & Reading Centre of Kitchener-Pioneer Village is much more than just about learning the basics. They get to know your child on a first name basis and support them to allow them to develop confidence that will serve them throughout life. Corina and staff are always welcoming and give you their attention to assist you .

My kids have been doing Kumon at this centre for 6 years now. It's very helpful. Yes, the progress may be slow as described by others but my goal is to ensure that my children understand the knowledge instead of just speeding through the program. This is especially important for Math.Kumon has been a very helpful tool for my children. It helps to ensure they are on top of their school work and it also taught them to be more organized, have better time management skill and also learn the self-discipline they need to succeed in the future. It is true that it is just worksheets, but through doing the daily worksheets, they learn that they need to plan their days better and know that it is part of their daily routine.

I liked Kumon's method. I would say grade 1 to 4 can benefit most! But educators of this center has poor communication with parents! Actually most of the educators looks like grade 9-10 students! You can only chat with the owner and secretary!Do not throw your money to the toilet! " (This rude words said by the center owner after my son did not do some of his homework only once!) What a nice and kind educator right !!! Listen to her and do not waste your money with this center! We transferred our children to another center and so far we are happy!"

Not very quick

We wasted our money and time for more than a year at this Kumon location. Its better to buy costco books and online Khan academy account, because at the end parents paying for material only, no method is explaining by them, and parents are the one who is spending time on kids to explain it. Its not worth to pay that much just for material. Corina dont know how to explain when parents questioning, because she didnt answers my questions. Totally wastage.

I would give this a zero if I could. The learning is good, but the treatment of the children by the owner and the front staff is terrible if they don't sit in the centre to do the work. There is no communication with parents when you leave a message. Go to another Kumon if you can.
