I went through the house almost a year ago, and now i work there! Westminster house saved my life! The staff really helped me on days that i just couldn't do life anymore on my own. It really helps that all staff are in recovery. Ive been to other treatment centers where the counsellors were not in recovery and had no real life experience with addiction and i couldnt relate to them and to be honest i couldn't take them seriously. Westminster house showed me how to build a strong connection with other women and helped me manage other relationships in my life. Westminster house also provides a family program, which my family is a part of. My family has been a part of this group for almoat a year and yhey have learned so much. It has saved our family. Im.so grateful for all the help i continue to get on a daily basis from them. If you struggle with addiction i highly recommend getting the help through them. They have ahown me that my life is worth living today!

Westminster house has changed my life! The way the staff truly cared about me made all the difference. Everyone there was helpful and understanding. There were a lot of fun activities, as well as great individual and group therapy. The tools you are provided while there are to put in practice every day one day at a time and for that I am grateful I was able to get my life back.

All the staff at Westminster House helped me gain my integrity, sobriety, family and smile back into my life. From my first steps into their doors I felt so much love from everyone that is a part of the Westminster House community. I was taught a new way of life during my stay through group sessions and one to one session with my case worker for which I will be forever grateful for. They definitely know how to make recovery fun! If you are struggling with addiction I highly recommend Westminster House for your recovery journey.

Westminster House allowed me to gain a life beyond my wildest dreams! Their staff and programming provided me a safe space to learn about myself and the root of my addiction, while obtaining integrity, trust, and the ability to live honestly. I had never been to treatment before, and I was terrified to leave the comfort of my addiction, however within a few days I was adjusted to the regimented structure of the program, which I still follow in my daily life today. After completing the program, Westminster House gifted me with a grant towards post secondary, which I have used towards obtaining my Bachelor of Social Work. I still frequent Westminster House and value their open door policy; I will always feel safe and loved in the presence of their counselors. If it wasn't for the staff and program at Westminster House, I can honestly say I probably would not be alive today. Thank you Westminster House for saving my life and giving me a beautiful, clean future.

My experience at Westminster House society for women has been inspiring. From a resident, a volunteer, alumni and employee this place has been very supportive. I have grown with this society and I can say from all the feedback I get, this place is the best. The social model of recovery works because you get to build your own recovery capital. It’s up to you if you want to receive the benefits and gifts. This place can change anyone for the positive who is open to the change. Thank you to all the women who have been with the society for a minute or a lifetime!

Westminster House taught me how to build a life for myself that far exceeded what I imagined possible. Through completing primary care and second-stage programs I have gained the ability to live substance-free, cope with the challenges of life in a healthy way, and be a member of my family that I am proud of. Westminster House provides family group meetings where my mother was able to get the support she needed. As a part of the aftercare program, I applied for the Women Do Recover Award of Distinction, and am currently working towards a Bachelor of Science in Psychiatric Nursing degree. Today, I have an amazing support group and friends in recovery, am employed at two organizations that I admire, and have found true happiness. I highly recommend Westminster House to any woman who is struggling with substance misuse.

Westminster House saved my life. I can not express the gratitude I have for this facility. When I arrived at Westminster house I was physically and mentally not well. I had been in active addiction for a decade and I did not know how to live without drugs and alcohol. The staff related with me and gained my trust and showed me a new way to live. The staff and alumuni modeled behavior that I was able to follow and adapt to. Today I live a life beyond anything I could have ever imagined and I owe the foundation of my success as a recovering addict to the Westminster House.

Addiction is such a brutal disease and I was in so much denial before I went to Westminster House that I put myself and my child in dangerous situations. I gained back my self respect, integrity, and ability to parent by sticking out the 90 day program and learning how to live in recovery. It was hard work and difficult at times but I owe Westminster House my life. The aftercare program was one of a kind and helped me get grants for school so I was able to get a job when I was ready.

Westminster House gave me a home. I came into treatment very lost, and afraid. I soon came to see that I was in a safe place where I could finally heal. The staff has gone above and beyond for me. After my 90 days in primary I moved into the 2nd stage transitional housing, as I had decided to stay in New Westminster for the amazing recovery community I had become a part of.I work at the house now, and have to honor of being a part of other women's recovery journey. I also attend Vancouver Community College on a scholarship provided to me by Westminster House, as they encourage women not only to recover, but to build themselves a stronger future.

Westminster House saved my life! I would not be the person I am today if I had not had the support of the women and the staff at Westminster House. When I got there I was so sad and hopeless, and super scared! Insecure and unsure of who I really was I stayed until they gave me the ok that I was ready to leave and go out on my own. The continued care and on going recovery was crucial to my staying clean as I hit some bumps in the road, everyday life on life's terms, I am always supported by Westminster House. With their continued support I was able to get through a lot of things clean in the last five and a half years, I always have a safe place to go, a place that is always home for me.
