Chatters Hair Salon

I had the most enjoyable experience at this salon today. Not only was the stylist personable and professional, but I was gifted with a very pleasant conversation with the Manager. She was friendly and kind and totally made me want to visit the salon again. I'll definitely be back!

I went in for a quick wash and style appointment but walked out with a haircut. Loved the haircut, the hairdresser went shorter than our discussion but I was happy. The only reason I’m giving four stars is because of the straightener being used, it was constantly snagging my hair and it was quite uncomfortable. Other than that the location is great, the staff is great, and I even walked out with a little discount on a straightener I bought for myself.

I had an appointment booked for 1pm, I came in about 5 min early and the receptionist was held up dealing with another client shopping around failed to greet me even though she saw me. I wasn’t too bothered I get people are busy. Upon finally being helped, she says for jasleen? Assuming that’s my name most likely based off the colour of my skin. This already left a sour taste in my mouth. Afterwards my hairstylist and the receptionist talk about boots and look at their phones continuing to have a conversation while it’s past 1pm my scheduled appointment time. I booked in for a bang trim and redken treatment. My online booking said it would be $35. On top of having to constantly recut my bangs because they were uneven there was an unexpected $48 charge for a blow dry. Which I was unaware of. I would have happily drove down the street to my home to blow dried my own hair as I was not notified of this extra charge. An extra $48 is something you tell the client prior to doing the service. I would have declined had I known the cost. Through out my appointment the stylist also expresses she’s having a rough day and talks with the receptionist during my service about how they will be doing the receptionist hair. I have been coming to chatters for years and often book with Liza who is fantastic. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to book with her this time and ended up with the other stylist. The location is quite convenient for me and chatters has delivered in the past but this was completely unprofessional and unacceptable on so many levels. There was not one interaction throughout my whole experience that was positive today

Think twice about going here.I stopped going here for 2 years because of the horrible haircuts. I originally had 2 good haircuts, but that didn't last. The 3rd was horrible, and even my coworkers commented how bad it looked with the it'll grow back" saying

When I read reviews before my hair appointment I was worried.Lots of reviews from unhappy people and people saying the receptionist is rude but that was not my experience at all. When I came in the receptionist ( I did not get her name) that was there was extremely kind and helpful and so was the receptionist (Corrina I think) when I left. I had to wait because I came in early and they were very accommodating and offered me refreshments. It was my first time getting full foils and the first time in a long time getting any sort of professional haircut. Richa M did my hair and I would definitely try to get in with her if you're curious about who to see. She was incredible. She gave me advice and even home remedies to improve my hair. She was super kind, listened to all my concerns and very quick for the process I had to have done. I had box dye on my hair and she got it lifted to a very consistent beautiful blonde and helped me pick a toner to give me gorgeous results. I am super happy. The only thing I could even remotely critique on is she did cut off a bit more than I had wanted and expected but my hair definitely needed it so it was 100% for the best and I am in love with my hair. Visited the location today to purchase a volume brush dryer. Wow!! Very knowledgeable and attentive. Thank you for a great experience!

I had very high hopes from this salon but unfortunately didn’t get the actual haircut I asked for. It made me quite disappointed because my hair still has spilt ends left after a haircut. Don’t know if she didn’t understand me well but I showed her pictures before. The ladies were nice though especially the one at reception. The do offer snacks.

worst experience I’ve ever had and all I asked was for a simple wash and blowout. She told my multiple times that my hair was too thick for a blowout and kept recommending me options that wouldn’t take up the most time. I get blowouts every 2 weeks so I don’t understand how the thickness of my hair would have anything to do with it this time. Used a really small brush and kept getting it tangled and pulled out so much of my hair. I was finally over getting my scalp manhandled and decided to stop the treatment halfway through because it hurt so much. Would not recommend chatters at all- not even my enemy!

Came to chatters to ask for a blonde to red root touch-up and the hairstylist assured me they would be able to achieve this (I have been getting the same procedure done at a student salon and it has been achieved flawlessly every time). I went home and noticed that my roots were an unsavory orange-purple colour and did not match the hair that was not touched up. When I went back to the salon and expressed my concerns, I was assured that the dye would fade, however this never happened and I spent the next few months wearing various hats to hide the unevenly dyed hair. I decided to give chatters another chance and went back for touch-ups three more times throughout the year, all to no avail. When I finally took my hair to another salon, the hairstylist took a photo and showed me that the hair that was dyed by chatters was a different colour every time I got it re-touched up, which produced a striped banding effect, which I had to pay to get corrected. This is unfortunate, as I have been spending upwards of $80 at Chatters just to end up wearing a hat to cover the bad dye job. Gave 2 stars because at least the hair stylists were polite and tried their best.

I had a haircut yesterday from Katrina. She has done a tremendous job. I loved everything about it. I am definitly looking forward to get my next haircut from her.
