Super 8 by Wyndham Portage La Prairie MB

Stayed here Mother’s Day weekend for a little staycation. Started okay, but the pool was freezing. The beds were quite uncomfortable. And upon checkout (we paid cash) the lady at the front desk went up to check our room to take account for everything and a bed spread was apparently missing. When we check in we take the bedspread off and chuck it in the corner, when we came back that day and the beds were made up, beds were not made with the bedspread again but there was one folded up on the shelf. So we were held accountable for a $70 bedspread that housekeeping didn’t replace.. and when she called the housekeeper to chat about it there was obviously a language barrier (not my complaint) so she couldn’t understand what she was asking and had no recollection of taking it out of the room so they refused to give us that portion of our deposit. Our info was taken down and told the manager would be in touch the following day and nothing ever came about even after trying to call. So we were out an additional $70+ for a blanket..

The pet friendly room was clean and fresh smelling! I didn't get much time to explore but the kids liked that it had a pool and waterslide. Breakfast did not have any hot items but you could toast the waffles or nuke half a boiled egg in lieu of I guess. Overall very nice stay with good beds, bedding and well maintained. Hats off to housekeeping and maintenance staff there!

It was okWe're here with a hockey teamThe hotel was not the most welcomingBut when the book 3 hockey teams on the same floor and all from the same town and then expect the kids to be quiteThe building is wood construction so everything can be heard especially kids having funThe manager walking down the hall telling parents there kids are elephants probably not the best way to address your paying guestsI won't be rushing back to stay hereThe pool was quite cold the hottub was broken and the chlorine was extremely strong

Worst customer service in my 15 years of traveling for hockey I hope nobody else has to deal with what I had went through front desk clerk was rude talking over me left my phone # for the manager to call received no call back the clerk wouldn’t let my daughter into our room and left her in the parking for 3 hours even though I called day before and confirmed that she would be able to check in with room payment a family friend offered to help and she refused him as well she’s too old and needs to retire quite sure she wouldn’t like it if her family was treated that way….she’ll meet up with karma somewhere along the way

Staff was excellent and very accommodating. Beds were super comfortable. The only issue was the amount of chlorine in the pool. Was way to strong…you couldn’t sit in the area very long as it burned your eyes.

We only stayed for one night, but the room was warm and clean and staff was friendly.

Stay here with confidence.Having travelled across the country twice in a matter of a few weeks, we were consistently disappointed by the price and conditions of our hotels. But our stay in Portage La Prairie more than made up for other bad experiences. The price was fair, the hotel and parking lot was secure and safe, the room was spotless, and - maybe most importantly - it was quiet.More than those fundamentals, the staff at this Super 8 is exceptional.Sam checked us in and was genuinely friendly. One of the nicest, most professional front-of-house experiences I've had in my years of travelling. And I travel a lot.Arriving home, I realized I forgot my laptop charger. Frankie promptly found it for me and Jessica helped me organize the shipping. What could have been a painful experience was quite the opposite. The team at this Super 8 went above and beyond, and I can't tell you how helpful and kind Jessica was in making sure I received my forgotten item. I'm sure I created a needless hassle for all involved and yet they made me feel like it was their duty to help.I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and will stay here, without question, on future travels.

We had a great stay. Our room was clean and had everything a normal room would have. The pool is a little chilly but very clean. The front desk ladies were very nice and accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay and had fun in the pool all evening

I was pleased with my stay at this hotel. The reservation and check in process was excellent. Personable and efficient staff. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The hotel is located very close to the Trans Canada Highway. Good value for your dollar.

This location was reasonably priced, clean, and had an operating pool that was well looked after. The cleaning staff were friendly, the front desk was very helpful, and breakfast was good even for our two year old. I would not hesitate to recommend it.
