The charcuterie board was great. We added fries and a brushetta .Our server, Naomi, was great. Very helpful with great suggestions.

Unfortunately not the Pilsen I remember. It was crowded so I understand things can take time. But it must have taken close to 10 minutes to give our drink order, 20 minutes for our drinks to be served. Another 10-15 minutes to order our food, meanwhile I am noticing that people who had come in at the same time as us already had their food. I have never had to get up in a restaurant and ask to be served. The waitress asked if we wanted a special mayonnaise sauce and a couple of people at our table said yes. We never saw the mayonnaise. Our food was luke-warm.I do not blame the waitress, clearly there was poor management of the tables. I was told they were implementing a new system, however that is not an excuse the client cares about. They also seemed short staffed for a Saturday night. We were never offered dessert and actually had to get up and walk towards the door to get our bill. We had invited friends from Montreal and were a little embarrassed since we had told them how wonderful the Pilsen was. Like I said not the Pilsen I remember.

Good food, good value.Very aggressive sounding sound system around the outdoor seating area, making it very hard to have a conversation. No ice in the water, at room temperature? yuck.staff does what it can, but I think the management/owner should be a little more aware.also, not having any reservation system is kinda of lame, we showed up with a group of 12 and had to wait for them to get organized to take care of us. I tried calling to get give them a heads up.... Nope.and they have some sort of minimum tip thing? What's that?

I had the jerk chicken sandwich and a brew. This was one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. Our server was fantastic - I can't say enough good things about this place. Can't wait to visit in the summer on the terrace. Yummy!

I visited with a friend a week and a half ago. We went for lunch on a Friday and had to eat inside. Even though the door was open to the upstairs portion overlooking the lake and river it was officially closed so back down the stairs we went. We ordered fish and chips along with a beer and a wine. When our food arrived it was obviously over cooked to the point of looking burnt. We sent it back and when the new plates arrived they were only slightly better. The fries were soggy and very dark and the fish was dry and over cooked. We were very disappointed. When our waitress asked how our lunch was I answered that it not very good and overcooked. No attempt was made in the way of an apology. Today, Monday, visiting friends of mine went for beer and a bite. One person ordered chicken tenders and again they were so dry and over cooked he did not finish then. When he spoke to the waitress he was told they were suppose to be like that. Really? Was it because they were English from Ontario? A table next to him ordered then and they were obviously a lighter colour and not overlooked. I will not recommend Pilsen’s to any of my visitors this summer unless I know there is a change of cooks and staff attitude.

We had the worst dining experience at the Pilson, newly renovated and overlooking the lake. A breathtaking view!! I never write reviews. But this was worth a note. We arrived at 6:30 pm as a foursome and had to wait 20 minutes to just be seated. There were empty tables but no one even approached us. Finally we get seated and it took an hour just to order drinks. We finally got our dinner at 9pm. No apologies, no eye contact. Tables around us came and went. The food came cold. An absolutely terrible evening and $248.00 for the privilege.

Second visit and it's still excellent. We sat upstairs in the new dining area and it was delightful. Food was excellent and service also in spite if the fact that there was one waitress and about 12 tables she did an excellent job. This is a somewhat limited review since we only had the French Onion Soup and the House Smoke Salmon...both of which were excellent. The soup was served nice and hot with local melted cheese on top. Just the right balance between broth and onion flavor. Crotons were large enough that they didn't end up as tiny specks of mush in the bowl, which was perfect. The house smoke salmon was impressive. I like my smoked food to have that real smoked flavor and this salmon delivered the smoke and the salmon flavors in unison and it was served with very fresh toasted slivers of bread to put it on, I may have dreams about this! The service was excellent we were promptly greeted and told to pick any table we liked. Even though it was a bit breezy and cloudy we did opt for sitting outside which was nice. My only gripe is the outside patio could use a power washing and the hanging baskets need some love, minor details. The inside I would describe as rustic rather than elegant but I am about the food not the decor. The waiter was busy but very attentive to every table. I like waiters that make being very busy look as smooth and easy as this guy did, definitely a pro.We will return and have a full lunch or dinner in the near future.
