Reviewing the complaints for sirens. Anyone realize it is literally illegal (violates motor vehicle act) for them to not use both lights and sirens to disobey any other components of the motor vehicle act (i.e. speed, proceed through an intersection with a red light or even stand (stop) in the middle of the street. Should an incident occur and these were not activated it is likely the City would be sued (a drunk driver crashed into a parked fire truck off to the side of the road in Richmond without the correct lights activated and the drunk driver sued the city and won!!). Only the police have an option in the motor vehicle act permitting them to disobey components of the motor vehicle act without sirens activated.

I appreciate the work these guys do but I have to say the things below. This firehall seems to have become some kind of frat house over the last year. Feels like they added a bunch of new recruits because the amount of noise and type of noise overall has increased significantly.Even with my tolerance for noise and wearing headphones all day these guys are really testing my limits, specially during the warmer days when they leave their doors open and we have to leave our windows open. They make noise day or night with seemingly no regard for the neighbours to the point of it being malicious. If it's not them excessively abusing the horns and sirens whether there is traffic or not or that it's 3am but they also leave the main doors open so their extremely loud announcement system is blaring all day long.During the quite times" in the day

I hope in my lifetime I will see the day when all the cars on the road are autonomous, so they'll get out of the way of an emergency vehicle automatically and sirens and airhorns are antiquated relics of the past.

Major reason of being exposed to extremely high pitched sirens and air horns 7/24. I question the benefit of using their sirens and air horns in front of their station all the time. There must be a restriction of using sirens and air horns. As a seasoned driver, I can state that, majority of the citizens are aware of the law which requires yielding emergency vehicles. And we practice this law all the time. However, the drivers of these trucks thinks that we don't here or see them, and use their sirens and air horns without questioning the necessity.

They are obviously abusing horns and sirens during late hours, sometimes even during the night. I don't think it's necessary to use those when the road is clear. It wakes my 7 month old daughter. She hear them since she was born and still can't get used to it.

If people can’t stand the ongoing noise of living in a major city, they should move away. 5 stars for helping citizens in their times of need and upholding safety where we call home, clearly this is going unrecognized by most.

First of all, I want to praise all of the work that you do at this firehall. This firehall also seems to be quite good at pickle ball. They should join a league…But my chief complaint is the noise, especially unnecessary noise. Similar to other comments, you put on sirens at hours of the day when there is no traffic. But what’s even more troubling is that you “practice” and “test equipment” when people are walking by, scaring animals, and probably bursting a couple of ear drums.I know a google review won’t do much, but a more formal complaint process should be made more readily available by the city.

Hall 8 are the best bunch of firefighters around. Sometimes I am woken up by the sirens but I see it as a reminder that the city is in safe, strong, capable hands. There is NO abuse of sirens and air horns. Thank you Vancouvers best, keep up the great work!

I’m sorry for the 1 star. I appreciate your service. However, sirens and air horns are literally used AFTER midnight on a week night and sometimes at 5:30am. This seems excessive and unnecessary as there’s barely any traffic at that time. Can you pleaseeee stop???
