Rolling Rapids Motel

We(4 adults & 2 kids) stayed in the(only) 2 bedroom room which is basically 2 rooms joined by a bathroom between them. Rooms and beds were clean and comfy but room with the 2 beds was very small! In both rooms we had to place all of our bags/suitcases on the floor as there was no table or suitcase stand. The bathroom-again super clean but no place to put anything-no table or shelf etc.We totally understand that the owners are renovating and we saw the other rooms facing the river and they looked great with the furnishings etc. We would definately come back but would choose the river facing rooms.(my advice to the owners-grab a pot of paint and redo that room asap! The base boards, ceilings and walls didn't look that inviting!)

This was the perfect motel to stumble upon in the middle of the night. The gentleman running it drove over from his residence to check us in which we were very grateful for. The rooms were cozy and basic. Would stay again.

We are highly disappointed with the room we recently stayed in. I knew as soon as we pulled into the place that it was going to be a bit of a nightmare!! It reminded me of something you would see in a rated B movie from the 70`s. We most certainly love Algonquin area for the bike rides and hikes, but I did not look forward to returning to the room. I wore sandals in the room the entire time we were there. The shower was disgusting to us. The very bottom of the shower curtain had black mold on it, and there was hair in the shower from people before us. That is my worst nightmare. I didn`t want to step foot in the shower, and talk about sad because we desperately needed to enjoy a peaceful vacation. The backside of the place is nice, but unkept! We sat in almost a foot of weeds down by the water. Why wouldn`t somebody tidy up the back area of the motel, my goodness we paid $170.00 a night. I guess you get what you pay for, yet it is NOT a cheap place! I am not one to complain much, but it was very dirty, and we were not able to relax like we deserve to.

I liked the location. The river was nice. Other than that, the room was a dump. It had a weird smell and maybe it was cleaned prior to our stay but it sure didn’t look it. Wore my slippers the entire time because the floor looked questionable, and even wore them in the shower. I read a similar review about the state of the room after my stay to which the owner very defensively responded that they recently had spent quite a lot on renovations but it honestly did not look like they did. Only other positive thing I can say is that the bed was comfy. And I, too, did not come on the internet to vent. I simply came here to write a review, to which I would think a motel owner would happily accept from its guests. Cheers.

Our stay was a bit short, it was just for the night before heading into back country Algonquin. Some people complain, but visiting from Toronto I rather enjoyed the rustic charm of the place and our room, it wasn't a cookie cutter, it had character and charm. The falls were beautiful and I wish we had more time there.

When we arrived in our room we found out door lock was not working. I called reception it was closed. I left msg. about it and receptionist called around 10 am said she will send a locksmith to fix it. When we came back from hiking lock still wasn't locking and I called again receptionist she said they don't have any one to fix it today but she will let owner know about it. We were sleeping at night having chair in front of the door. We checked out next morning. Did not like staying there. One of our group member found out upon arriving that someone called for his room cancellation and now their motel is fully booked but than she end up giving him o e room.

Rooms are very old and outdated. Infront of the door there is alot of sand and dirt nobady clean it. There is so many bugs and mosquitos as rhe lighs are right above the door so you cant escape it.Lightning is so bad and outdated that my 3 year old did not want to go to bathroom and worst of all is the smell old and moldy .Place it self is beautiful river right by the door i only enjoy my stay outside but room is horrible.Not for kids or families i ould not recommend until is renovated and updated.***i apreciate owner replying to my review but i did let them know that i am coming with 3year old and i asked about a room condition. I left day early for reason mentioned above and would not ask to transfer as i wanted that motel in particular as there was no point.

Classic motel, with a very relaxing backyard, complete with river, rapids, fire pit, muskoka chairs and picnic tables. All the pleasures of camping without having to set up tents. We had a 2-bedroom unit with the bathroom in the middle, which was more than enough space for 2 people. Interior clean.Slight details like repainting outside of doors and hiding power cords would help generate a more positive first impression, because overall it's a great place to stay for the price, very close to the park, with professional and courteous service.

We had a great time at Rollin Rapids motel. The communication was super easy and quick and the place looks exactly like it does on the pictures. The neighborhood is very conveniently located and is very quiet! One of the main reason I choose this place was because how close it was to Algonquin West Gate (8 min ish Drive). You could easily go there in the morning, and easily check in without the headache of knowing you need to drive too much before settling down. -Super Market and a nice breakfast right next door also Would absolutely recommend to stay here and am looking forward to staying here again one day.

We had a 3 night stay at Rolling Rapids motel while exploring Algonquin during the day. We were very happy with the room. It was a decent size for a motel room, it was clean, and our waterfront room had a great view, and the staff was very friendly. We sat by the waterfront every morning with our coffee/tea and enjoyed the picturesque view.Prior to our stay I had read some of the negative reviews and wasn't sure what to expect, but was pleasently surprised. At the end of the day it's a clean motel room that you can use as your base to have a good night's sleep after spending the day canoeing/hiking/biking in Algonquin. As a bonus the restaurant across the river/bridge is also excellent and has a great variety of food. We hope to be back.
