Canary District Animal Hospital

I was referred to Canary District Animal Hospital by a friend who works with animal rescues. From the moment I spoke to Victoria on the phone, I was glad I had called. She was friendly, efficient and empathetic about my cat’s ear infection. All of the team is incredibly welcoming and the hospital is bright and clean. Dr. Ellen Kinzl is thorough, personable and kind. She’s very practical and takes the time to get to know you and your animal during visits. This was truly my best vet experience and I’m so glad to know they’re nearby. I’d definitely recommend this place, whether it’s an emergency or you’re a first-time pet owner.

I went through 4 vets in the city before finding one I actually felt 100% comfortable with-- and this is them! Dr. Kinzl, the techs and the support staff are all really lovely and kind. They don't push their products on you, and they seem to really care about the animals. Would definitely recommend.

We’re so glad that someone recommended this place to us! After adopting our foster fail, we called to set up an initial appointment. However, we had a minor emergency come up and they fit us in quickly before our scheduled appointment. I’ve had family pets before but this is my first dog with my partner so I wasn’t sure what to expect but Dr. Kinzl and her team exceeded my expectations. The front desk team, Vanessa and Victoria, were so friendly not only with our dog, but also to us. They were accommodating and made sure our needs were met. Dr. Kinzl was so knowledgeable and careful with our baby, and took her time with our many questions. Our dog wasn’t scared at all and loved all the attention. Thrilled to have such an amazing vet team!

Absolutely loved bringing my cat here! Normally he hates going to the vet, but he was fine here. Also, they don't try to push you into buying things that aren't needed. I could not recommended this place more!

I’m so glad we found this hidden gem!Follow-up: our puppy (@corgi.momocha) got well SO FAST after having soft stools for 2 weeks and intensive vomiting and diarrhea for the last day! We brought him to Canary in the afternoon, and he was okay by the evening. We’re so happy because he’s been so ill for so long, and we’ve already been to our regular vet’s 2 times with no improvement.Extremely grateful to the doctors and admins here!

I just had my 3rd appointment at the clinic for my 2 kittens, and the staff is always careful and amazing. Today, I met Dr. Ellen Kinzl for the first time and I have to say, she is an exceptional professional. Her expertise and patience are incredible and I’ve never felt so trustful chatting with a vet. She’s really talking out of experience and passion and I’ve really appreciated all her insights. My kittens are really calm and comfortable every time we visit the clinic.Ellen but also the previous doctor I’ve met won’t push for unnecessary exams, meds or additional supplies that would just increase the bill $, like most of the other vets would normally do and which is actually discouraging people to bring their pet to the vet. Their prices are pretty average for downtown Toronto which is definitely a ++.

I had a great experience with Canary District Animal Hospital. Dr. Kinzl was friendly and informative and all of the staff at the clinic were so kind and helpful. Will definitely be back for any future veterinary needs.

I am absolutely blown away with the amazing and friendly service Gary and I received today. I was able to get a same day appointment and saw how comfortable Gary felt despite being quite an anxious cat. Every single staff member there is just an absolute joy to be around and now Gary is feline purrrrfect after his appointment! Thanks again!

I've had cats, rabbits, and dogs my whole life and this is the best vet experience I've ever had. Everyone is so friendly and knowledgeable. I have a rare breed of dog (Hungarian Puli) and it was so nice to know a technician there is familiar with my dog's breed. All the vets I've seen have been friendly, and so full of knowledge. None of them have pushed vet products in terms of food which I appreciate. One vet even emailed to check in on a holiday long weekend when my puppy was sick. Above and beyond with all their services from the greeting at the front door till the moment you leave. Highly highly recommend.

Love taking our puppy Peach! Since we got her they have given us all the tools and knowledge we need to be the best dog parents we can be. I like their proactive approach and I couldn’t be happier we found this place. I really can see they care and the facilities are always spotless when we come in.
