Left a bad impression on me that the estate company's owner was on facebook publicly guilting people for making offers at an estate sale. And then to announce it to a crowd and again try to publicly shame someone for making a reasonable offer on something being sold 2nd hand at an estate sale. No matter what a decedent may have originally paid, it's an estate sale - NOT a boutique shop. If it's that valuable, it would probably be best to list online separately anyway. Not at all knocking the family for wanting to get more for it because it was beautiful, just the manner the company handled it was disappointing.Plus you're using a $900 lamp as a marketing ploy in advance of a sale to get people to attend the sale but not disclosing that it's priced at $900. That's more than my monthly mortgage payment for Pete's sake! I've never in any of the tons of estate sales I've attended seen anything besides a vehicle or kitchen appliance priced that high. Just seems like deceptive advertising to me and then to guilt people for making offers on top is just upsetting and completely unnecessary.I get that lowball offers are not ideal, but an offer is an offer and it's your fiduciary duty to the estate to hear them out and encourage negotiation of a sale. If you can't meet the person, then say no and move on. It's simple and it's what you sign up for being in sales. I will no longer recommend this company but hope they can do better in the future.

I'm not big on estate sales as I don't like the cattle call. It is a balancing act between the client and the customer. This weekend, the client was clearly favored over the customer. I recognize it's hard to achieve a win-win and I don't know the behind the scenes story. The prices on jewelry and other items were ridiculously high. I was told the sterling was priced at scrap and then graciously offered a scale. The pieces weighed in at 1.4 ounces of sterling but priced at $75, clearly not scrap price. That is why I am giving a 3 star review. I found no fault with the workers or the set up otherwise.

This company held a 3 day estate sale for my family. After repeated requests for the third day of receipts Heidi Sweet is unable to produce them. I have asked for receipts from her employee, Nick Lobrutto, who cannot produce receipts for the things he took. I have seen items he took from the estate sale which are now being resold at his online store at Chairish.com ... yet he still cannot produce the receipts. Heidi’s excuse is that “ I’m moving so everything is packed up and I no longer have the copies.” This is an unethical company at the worst or incompetent at the least. As another customer said in these reviews “beware”.

As one of best Estate Sale companies in the area,Sweet and Harding goes beyond the standard of service.Every detail of the estate property is handled with respect and care.The items are staged and clean for the best presentation possible.The prices are fair to both the estate and buyers.Its hard to compare with others because they are in a class by themselves!Keep your standards high and we all win.

Having to stand in line for a glorified garage sale is rediculous. No reason people can't walk though like all the other companies. Everyone should have an equal shot going in

I will never go to a Sweet and Company estate sale ever again. When I heard you stand out in front before the sale starts and run your mouth about how long you have been wrenching on stuff and how well you know your tools, and how you took 3 days to look up everything in the garage online, I knew there wasn't going to be a deal to be had. All I saw was High prices on everything. 175.00 for a combination square? Really? You sit there and tell people there can't be more than 4 people in the garage because you can't keep an eye on everything but you have multiple employees in the house guarding nothing but piles of junk. Can't believe you get such positive reviews from people. I go to these sales for a living, and this sale was a total joke.

My favorite estate sale company. Prices are fair and people are pleasant. I'll always review anything they have going on before I consider anyone else.

I've been to many estate sales in WNY over the past five years, and Sweet and Harding is the best, with consistently high quality merchandise, fair prices, and friendly service. Ignore the idiot who complained about standing in line: the stuff at a typical Sweet and Harding sale is MUCH better than anything you'll find at a garage sale. And without the sign up sheet and the line, the homes would be too crowded to even move from room to room, much less look at the stuff. Get your name on the list early; it's worth the wait.

I am very familiar with most of the estate sale companies in Western New York, having attended many estate sales over the last few years. Based upon my experiences, I chose to hire Sweet & Harding for an estate sale at a property that I manage. From the beginning, I could not have been more impressed with Heidi Sweet and her team. They were all knowledgeable, courteous, respectful of the house and its contents, and willing to help in any way. I volunteered to work the two days of sale and saw each of them in action. Heidi Sweet had plenty of labor, all with expertise in various specialties, a smooth checkout and pick-up system, commanding knowledge of current value, very good control of the queue and customers, a smart approach to advertising, and a significant web presence. All of these attributes added up to produce an outstanding sale. In my view, the professionalism of Heidi Sweet and her team have no equal and I am deeply grateful for their efforts. I would recommend Sweet & Harding without reservation.

So pleased with Sweet & Harding. Always come home with a new treasure I just love, and it did not break the piggy bank. Such nice folks, too. I never feel out of place. Very warm and welcoming.
