The person who answers their phones at Peterborough was extremely unprofessional today. We called the Cobourg location for a specific breaker. They did not have it in stock but the gentleman said Peterborough did. I called Peterborough to confirm and offered to pay over the phone via credit card to hold it until we could get there (either this evening if traffic worked that we could get there before close, or they could set outside, or tomorrow morning - whichever worked for them). He immediately took a tone; “I don’t know why Cobourg would say we have them” and after checking, “Well, you aren’t going to like the price”. When I asked how much and to confirm that he does have them, he quoted us $105, which is $25 higher than any other competitor. When I said “Ok, I’ll call you right back, let me check”, his response was “Ya, you either want it or you don’t - I’m not into you checking elsewhere”.Super unprofessional. I wasn’t at all rude, I was calm and prior to the turn of conversation was happy to pay right then and there. As a customer, I’m entitled to evaluate options considering your high pricing and the cost of fuel today (your location is over 50km one way from me). Your response to me saying I’ll call right back has completely turned me off your company. I will not be using any of Guilivans locations after this experience, which is an unfortunate loss of business as we renovate an entire farmhouse.
