I was really heartbroken to see the conditions that people are required to live in. They are renovating, and it's a good thing because it's really necessary. Some rooms may be nicer and I can't speak at all about the quality of care, however I can't imagine having to send my family member here to live.

My parent currently resides at Bow View and has been calling this place home for more that 2 years now. The staff are wonderful, they treat my parent with dignity and respect. This is all our family could ask for. We are very pleased with the care here and would highly recommend it to anyone interested.

Great staff. Mom has been here over 3 years and we love our choice for her final accommodation. Near river and pathways.

In April 2021, I moved by step father into Bow View Manor. I did so with much hesitation and was quite anxious. The individual who was in charge of intake was very curt with our questions about the facility and level of care. To the point where I needed to ask her to be patient with me as I had a number of questions. With his unique situation, I wanted to know if they would be able to assist him properly. Especially as touring the facility was not a possibility due to COVID.In the end, I was not given the choice, AHS told us we HAD to accept the bed that was offered. My step father is ‘blind’, deaf in one ear and is 95 years old. He is unable to find/see the call button and therefore cannot press it when he wants to go to the washroom. Before arriving at BVM, he was able to stand, walk about his previous room to the bathroom, to the dining room and down the hall. While he was not strong, he was able to move about, stand and sit and get in and out of a car. When we moved him, there were no actions taken to welcome him, develop a care plan or ensure his unique needs would be met. I had to ask for a care plan. It seemed extremely unorganized. The atmosphere seemed very lethargic, the staff seemed disengaged with a few exceptions. The bathroom did not have double bars for the toilet. A temporary ‘seat’ was put over the toilet, but on more than one occasion, I arrived and the seat was over to the side and not over the toilet, while my step dad attempted to use one rail to sit down and get up from the toilet. Remember, he cannot ‘see’ where the toilet is located, so this was extremely stressful and dangerous for him.In his first 6 days alone at Bow View Manor, he fell 5 times. He was at Bow View Manor from April 12 – June 14, 2021. He can no longer stand up without assistance from his chair, he cannot walk with his walker and he is unable to even get in and out of the car. His decline is astonishing. He is lethargic and tired all the time. The facility was on constant outbreak it seemed. We would come off for a few days, and then it would be declared again. This last time, we received an email saying MOH cleared them in the morning, and then received another that night saying they had yet another staff member test positive and they were back on outbreak.I will say that management is aware of the issues and would like them resolved. There is likely a staffing shortage at the facility as well.We have been lucky enough to move him and the experience in the new faciity so far has been excellent. They welcomed us, physio was in on the first day and has a plan in place to try and improve his strength and energy.Based on all of the above, I would not recommend a vulnerable senior be placed in this facility. If they receive the same care that my step dad received, they will decline rapidly.

Horrible place. Lacking care. Diaper policy is leave the resident in the diaper until 75% full. Most beds are old and broken and give whiplash. Miss showers. Many left in wheelchairs from 8am to 8pm or later with no change of position or diaper changes. Management incompetent and some lie and tell you to leave if you don't like it.
