German Mills Settlers Park
It was a good choice! This trail was perfect for a family hike on weekend. It was not crowded and the loop was suitable for all levels. There was a bit of everything (including uphill, downhill, stairs, mud and paved roads). It was very easy to follow and the scenery was beautiful. Will come back again sometime!

Lake to Lake Route - German Mills and Huntington TrailsYork Region has connected this Lake to Lake Route from Lake Simcoe to Lake Ontario. We started the trail at German Mills Settlers Park which is paved and leads to forest trails, a meadow that is being regenerated and the German Mills Creek. You can see the highway at the end of the hike. One also walks on sidewalks to connect to both trails.

A very short loop, about 2km, across the creek from John. Pretty quiet on weekdays. Not a lot to see at this time of the year. Leaves were gone, the scenery was more like in winter. Too short a walk, but pleasant.

German Mills Settlers Park
Scenic trail covered with the forest canopy. Gentle stream flowing nearby. Dotted with birds and one could see a deer if you're lucky. Has an open space with grass too.

Very nice place for a peaceful walk alongside the river.. Beautiful fall colors.. Could not spot the salmon fishes yet but could see a baby snake.. Evening walk is amazingly good..

This is our first time to walk here. It is part of Markham's Lake to Lake system which travels between Lake Simcoe to Lake Ontario (total of 121km). This portion is from Steeles Ave to Hwy 7 (4.2km) We enjoyed this warm Thanksgiving Monday weather to take a walk there. It was great to be outdoors and this route was not too busy with other walkers and bicycles. The trees are in the middle of transferring to fall colours so it should happen more during this week. There is a stream here along the route and places off the route to explore. I would like to continue walking along or riding this route in the near future...

German Mills Settlers Park
Great neighborhood walking trail. Although the trail isn't too big, it is a decent sized for families, biking, or even walking your dog. There are many paths that lead to the trail which makes it accessible from different areas. located next to the river, it can be a nice space to get in tune with nature and forget the city's worries

Nice for a little stroll along the little community park. In the summer, parts of the trail is shrouded in greenery. Very nice.

German Mills Settlers Park
Great urban park with a path for walks along the stream if you like being near water and the difference scenes the waterway gives. A few nice bridges. Good for a mild escape if you can't make it out of town to a larger park or wilderness.
