Oxford Learning High Park

Last October, after having a very interesting and enriching conversation with Ms. Gernega, it was cleared to us that our 4 y.o. daughter was going to be in excellent hands at Oxford Academy High Park. Their teaching method is outstanding, which combined with a caring environment and smart and compassionate teachers, makes Oxford a perfect learning place. Our daughter found her place in the group, even though she was a late-comer. Her personality and desires have not been crushed by academia, on the contrary, she is cherished for who she is and she has been encouraged to find even more passions and to bring her spunky personality along. Our daughter is happy and absolutely adores her teacher. During the pandemic, the online program has been wonderful and has allowed the children to remain connected to each other, to their teachers and to their school work. We are so grateful for Oxford Academy High Park, keep up the amazing job you are already doing!

Our children (now aged 11 & 13) have been at Oxford Learning High Park location for 2 years now. We have recommended their classes/location to everyone we know. We have nothing but praise to say about the teaches & their programs. The teachers & administration are passionate about their lessons & care deeply about the success of all of the students. As my children always say, “they make learning fun”.  Our children have participated in the tutoring sessions, summer camp programs & most recently since March as a result of Covid, their project based learning. Oxford was extremely quick to respond to the situation & had programs up & running right after March break, providing a minimum of 5 hours a week of virtual learning based on projects on topics such as wonders of the world, debate club, international pen pals, book clubs and the list goes on.  While the tutoring programs at Oxford are tailored to the level of the child, the learning level can also be more advanced than the class curriculum at school, helping to set a foundation for when they approach such subjects at their own school.  As such, both of our children have become more confident in their work & abilities due to their involvement with Oxford.  Thank you Oxford for all that you do for our children

My eldest daughter has struggled with reading since Grade 1. A colleague of my suggested I try Oxford and I’m so happy I did! The team at High Park Oxford Learning Centre never ceases to amaze me. My daughter enjoyed her first lesson so much that we decided to continue, even though it was an added expense we weren’t expecting to take on. We’ve been with High Park Oxford for 2 years now and since then, my daughter has improved tenfold in her reading! The teachers at this centre are so impressive. They have a way of connecting with their students that makes them feel comfortable and confident. That’s not an easy job - I know because I’m a teacher myself! My daughter has never complained about this program, actually she looks forward to it. We’ve recently added my youngest (in SK) to the program and she is doing so well, I know we are giving her the tools she needs to become a strong reader as well! Please don’t hesitate to give High Park Oxford Learning a try. Their teachers are TOP NOTCH (shout out to Alannah and Bronwyn!! - my girls’ teachers!) We love you all!Sonia

My son has been attending twice a week with support in French for 8 months, and I highly recommend as a compliment to any immersion program!He is in french immersion at school and we have seen a significant improvement in his comprehension and development of his reading and math skill, all contributing to his improved participation in class.The teachers at Oxford have been wonderful, a perfect mix of patient yet firm. The curriculum has been broad and worked well to complement the FI curriculum at school. The work space is bright and airy, especially at the new Bloor location!

We absolutely love Oxford Learning High Park!My son was so behind, as he missed 2 years of school, due to circumstances.His first experience of public school was very negative, caused a lot of emotional distress and left my son feeling very insecure about himself.Oxford has been a great experience for him and has helped him gain the confidence he has needed to thrive and learn! Our experience with Oxford Learning High Park has been fantastic, and we highly recommend it. The teachers are outstanding. They are dedicated, patient, and passionate about teaching. They provide an extremely high level of education in a caring, welcoming environment, and offer a wide variety of programs. The teachers really challenge our kids in an encouraging, positive way. We get continuous feedback and recommendations, and the teachers truly want what is best for each child. My kids are always smiling when I pick them up, and this is attributed to the exemplary teaching and community feel of Oxford Learning.

We enrolled both of our children at Oxford High Park in March 2020. Over the past two months, we have seen great leaps in their academic abilities, particularly in math and reading. Both enjoy their one-on-one tutoring sessions and have great fun in the well thought out weekly group projects. The projects allow for first time exposure to such topics such as engineering, book clubs, debate, creative writing and civilizations. But most importantly for us as parents, our children's confidence and interest in school has soared. One child now picks up books to read on his own when before he never did and the other spends his free time on expanding his short story writing that was introduced in one of the projects. This to us is the clearest evidence of passionate and effective teaching. Thank you Oxford High Park!

We would like to express our gratitude to the Oxford Learning club and Anna for giving us the opportunity to gain new knowledge in learning English. Classes are held in interesting and exciting formats. This is also through the exact sciences, such as mathematics and playful presentation of material, which is so important for a child. An educational hub at the heart of the junction. Both my daughters have attended Oxford Learning High Park for over 4 years, through the Oxford Learning Academy, individual learning support and summer activities. Their programs are robust academically using evidence based methods, in a rich environment that is gentle and nurturing for younger age groups. I know my children’s intellectual, emotional and social needs are attended to here. During the pandemic, without fail, Ms Gernega and her awesome team transitioned seamlessly into online learning and provided us and many families with individualized support throughout this and last year. The teachers are amazing. My children have become keen and avid readers and learners - we are truly fortunate to have this gem in the area! Wholeheartedly recommend:)
