Danforth Karate Academy

My wife and daughter go to Danforth Karate Academy and they love it. The instructors have integrity, are professional AND fun. When we enrolled my daughter into the school I wanted to make sure she would get the right balance of discipline and fun - basically not be scared off by it - and I can't believe what she is capable of doing and it's not even been a full year yet!Her confidence levels have boosted, she is becoming more agile and aware, stronger and disciplined. She also gets to take the family class with her mother - you can't beat that anywhere. Hands down I'm so happy they are being mentored and guided by the instructors at DKA - no gimmicks - straight up Karate.

I started in April 2022 and enjoy everything about DKA. Shihan Peter is a wonderful teacher, the other students are all fun and supportive and the black belts assist Shihan when we break into smaller groups. It's a no pressure place to learn from someone who teaches extremely well.Update:We were recently honoured to have guest instructor Hanshi Sailly (a 9th degree black belt from France) come and teach a seminar as one of very few schools in Canada to be selected on his world tour. This says a lot about the calibre of the school and the respect it has earned nationally.

Many years ago, I was a student of Shihan Davis. He made quite an impression on me. When I wanted to return I was saddened to find out he had passed. However Shihan Jaukovic has continued to honour him and his legacy at the Danforth Karate Academy. I returned to honour Shihan Davis and I staying because of Shihan Jaukovic and his team. If you want to learn martial arts and become a better person for it, this dojo is for you.

Best place to learn Shotokan Karate in Toronto. Helped me to learn from the basics with no pressure. I had my concerns about starting Karate at a late stage. But this a place for all ages and experience levels. Absolutely love sweating it out in the Dojo with great Co-practitioners.

I cannot recommend this karate dojo highly enough! For years, I have been training here and it has been an incredible experience that has shaped me into the person I am today. The instructors are knowledgeable, passionate, and truly invested in each student's personal growth.Through this dojo, I have gained so much more than just physical strength and agility. The training has instilled in me a sense of discipline and indomitable spirit that has helped me in all aspects of my life. I have been a Member at Danforth Karate Academy for over 10 years.I have trained with many instructors threw out my life, and I have never experienced such top notch quality instruction anywhere else, then where I train now at Danforth Karate, our Head Instructor is held in such high regard with other school owners!I highly recommend Danforth Karate to anyone looking for Martial Art's Lessons for them selves or family members

Not really a good school. They seem like nice people but not good teachers . They like to attract new students, but once they're in the system , the quality of teaching seems diluted and dry. There are definitely better Karate schools out there . My 2 cents , don't waste your time and money .We've seen many kids and adults not go back and we've always wondered why. We have two kids ourselves who we've transferred to another school and I can see they're happier and are getting better and higher quality instruction compared to this one.

I had the pleasure of joining Danforth Karate about 2 months ago. As soon as I walked in the dojo and met Shihan Peter and Sensai Chris, I knew I came to the right place. Great teachers, great classmates, much respect, lots of fun and very inclusive! Going to the dojo is my favourite part of the week.

My daughter joined Danforth Karate in January after having a disappointing experience at another karate school. She loves it here! As a parent, I feel she’s supported and have seen her skills and confidence grow over the last three months. Highly recommend them!

I joined DKA just the other month and I love it! Shihan Peter and Sensai Chris are terrific, as well as all the students. It is a great learning experience and tons of fun! Would strongly suggest it to anyone interested in martial arts, truly rewarding being a part of the Danforth Karate Academy community!
