Remembrance day is a very emotive ceremony for the all Canadian. This place is featured on the most popular in downtown friendly 4.20 and the public washrooms are always clean.

This little Memorial park is one of the earliest and most symbolic public spaces in the city. The specimen Maple trees that include the Big Leaf ,Sugar and Norway were planted in 1892 and could possibly be the oldest in the city. The three sided Nelson island Granite obelisk was designed by park commissioner Major G.L Thornton Sharp and unveiled in 1924. Victory Square is dedicated to the brave and lost souls of WW1 who fought for our freedom. The park has a lovely mosiac with the names of the four streets that surround the park. The great fire mosiac is one of many different designs spread throughout the city. The surrounding architecture is a great example of Edwardian and Victorian styles. The Dominion building was briefly the tallest in the British Empire.

Victory Square
Alot of people and is hard to negotiate in wheelchair its uphill from hastings street and entering from pender its dangerously down hill. Dogs are allowed -very noisy from traffic on all sides nothing to do there but watch people drink or smoke weed. I found it very uncomfortable. On west side there are public washrooms unaccessable for disabled people with mobility issues. There are stairs leading below street level.

Victory Square
It's a beautiful square that's open to everyone. It's a good place to sit and observe the city, hangout, read a book, chat with a friend or friends, etc. It has park benches, nice well tended lawns and a beautiful structure with engraved messages, flags and a sword in honor of fallen soldiers. It's worth visiting if you ever stop by Vancouver.PS. Try not to wreck anything. Its hallowed ground. Respect it.

Victory Square
A nice small park/garden area amidst the hustling city. A lot of restaurants and café nearby. You can just buy a coffee and sit there and relax.
