We came here for 1 night on our week long honeymoon. It's a lovely spot, right on the beach and close to everything in town. The cottage is very basic but met all of our needs, including having a lovely balcony to look at the ocean from!I only wish it had been made more obvious how few meal options there are in town and how its best to pre-plan or make reservations at the Wild Caraway.All in all, provided an awesome spot to get to our kayaking trip, we swam in the ocean, had a bonfire and enjoyed some beers on the beach. Quite good!

Should of just stayed here all week. You could not ask for better hosts.Very clean and well kept grounds. Hands down, 5 stars.

Stayed two nights this past July and it was amazing. Cottage had everything you can imagine. Only drawback was the sofa bed upstairs. Wouldn't want to sleep on it as it we very uncomfortable even to sit on. Needs to be replaced.

We were glad that we found this location to stay at in Advocate Harbor. We did not get to spend enough time in the unit as we should have to take advantage of how nice it was. We were in the area to go sea kayaking and got off the water late. It was nice to arrive here, and the manager waited until we arrived before shutting up for the night.The unit was very comfortable with a great kitchen and living room upstairs to enjoy and two bedrooms and a bath downstairs. The kitchen was nicely equipped and you could have easily prepared a meal there. The living area had a fire place and comfortable furniture to relax and enjoy the quite location.The beach just outside the unit was beautiful and had lots of great driftwood along its shore. You could see a great distance in both directions along the shoreline, including the fog that was hanging low in the actual harbor channel.There were lots of notes taped up around the place with rules to follow, this seemed a little tacky and somewhat unnecessary. The other interesting items was the shower which was small but certainly adequate to get a shower.This would be a great sport to stay for multiple nights and really explore the local area.

We stayed for 2 nights. This place exceeded our expectations. I contacted Sue (the owner) to let her know we would be late arriving, and she basically did everything for us prior to our arrival, so all we had to do is walk into our chalet. The chalet itself was amazing...the loft, only had 2 single beds, but whatever, it was a neat place to sleep. Fire on the beach, amazing. We had the whole beach to ourselves for the day. I strongly recommend this place to this quiet well kept secret.

Exactly what we hoped for and more! Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. Look no further if you're looking for a peaceful destination away from the hustle and bustle of your everyday lives. Our chalet offered a breathtaking view in a cozy setting that was perfect for hours of reading and relaxation. And don't forget about the hot tub! John and Su' were amazing hosts and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Driftwood Park Retreat to our family and friends. Thanks for the amazing weekend!

I stayed here from July 22-24 2022. Inconvenience: The cabins are clean except for the pull out bed from the couch. The mattress on the pullout bed was covered with sand and I spent a lot of time dusting it off onto the floor. And there were some crumbs under the couch which was very inviting… maybe to a mouse. I have to say the wifi here is terrible it’s very bipolar. It worked for a couple of minutes and then became unstable. It is rural Nova Scotia but I think it would be great if there was a wifi extender in every cabin. We arrived a little earlier than we expected and we walked inside and the person that was cleaning it yelled very rudely, not to come in. Also I wish they could communicate politely with their customers. There’s a sign that says: “Dear guest please do not leave YOUR dirty dishes for us to do.” Like you don’t have to make “YOUR” bold because that made me feel like they are angry people. Instead communicate more politely and I wouldn’t even be writing this review.Convenience: this place is right on the beach I can hear the waves crashing. The sound is peaceful and the cabins are pretty big. There are two bedrooms one bedroom with two twin beds and one room with a double or queen bed. There is a pull out bed from the couch upstairs. And the kitchen is decent. There is a tv upstairs in the living room. There is a balcony on the 2nd floor with a few chairs and barbecue. And there is a deck with a hot tub. (the chalet with the hot tub costs an extra 20$ a day I believe and is only available in one chalet. There is electrical heating and a fire place. There’s a picnic table outside and pretty big backyard. Also if you are planning on coming to this place to collect some driftwood, well, you’re not allowed unless you take a tiny little piece. Beach fires are allowed but you cannot burn the driftwood. They provide wood for you to burn instead of you burning the driftwood.

In the middle of absolutely nowhere is this lovely and quiet retreat. Farms, trees, grass, horses behind the property, and a gorgeous beach in front. Walk to Cape Chignecto Provincial Park for some of the greatest hiking ever. Watch the dramatic tides in the Bay of Fundy. Drink in the peace.The chalets are private, comfortable, and well equipped for relaxation. Wonderful couch with two comfy chairs in the living room. Spacious kitchen and dining area. Did I mention the panoramic ocean views? Also, 2 comfortable bedrooms and a clean, modern bathroom.Gracious and helpful hosts, too. We’ll be back!

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon 5 years ago, amazing location. Very happy with our stay. We are planning a return trip in the future.

Such an amazing and beautiful place! I live in Ontario and am visiting for a few weeks, I'm so happy I got to see such magnificent sights! Highly recommended!!
