Thompson Construction Group

I have worked for Thompson Construction for 2 years and I have to say they are a great company to work for. I have met and worked with so many great people from the Spruce Grove office up to the Fort McMurray sites. There are so many opportunities for a person to come in and grow within the company whether it is in the field , the shop or the office.

Thompson was a great place to work in maintenance I had great Supervisors and the crew was great majority of the time. I only gave 3 stars because when I put my two weeks notice in they told me to not bother coming in leaving my luggage in civeo camp with no way for me to retrieve it. I emailed and was told that I either had to have a friend pickup or a courier sent to Mclelland lake to retrieve my belongings. The fact they wouldn't even let me finish off my two weeks with them and abandoning all my work gear without the decency to even make an effort to get it back to me speaks volumes for someone they considered an asset to their company.

My husband works for Thompson and they are a great company with exemplary leadership. They are generous, honest, and always seem to be able to strike the perfect balance between hard work and recognition/appreciation. We are lucky to be part of the Thompson family.

Most creepy company in this great industry! I don't know why Suncor is dealing with them.Poor, unprofessional management who makes decisions based on the buddy system( depends on how they like you, not on the base of your skills, professionalism, and attendance). Always broken equipment, dirty, dusty, full of garbage and debris cabs - this is Thompson.I've seen drunk Thompson management in the morning, HR lying about wages.Terrible workplace, no safety, absolutely no work ethic!

I have been an employee at Thompson Construction Group for just over a year, and never have I enjoyed working for a company as much as I do here. The working environment is relaxed and fun, while at the same time the employees are all hard working and dedicated to the success of the company. The camaraderie and communication between head office and the work sites, create a real sense of teamwork throughout the entire company. They have given me the opportunity to learn so much about a business that I knew nothing about. They have allowed me to develop many new skills by providing me the guidance and tools to work with, along with showing confidence in my abilities. Thompson Construction Group is very community orientated and I’m impressed, not only with how they focus on working with local and western Canadian companies, but also give back to the community through various local charities.

I worked with Thompson back in 2006 - 2010 (went on mat leave). Then decided to come back in 2019. They did not change! They are still the amazing company I worked for back then. They take pride in everything they do. They are amazing to their employees. They are very generous to many charities and kids sports. Love working for this company!!

The worst company I've ever worked for.Abuse apprenticeship with no following any apprenticeship rules and regulations. This company is a Garbage. Will not recommend to anyone.

From the longevity of most staff (from office to management to field) it's a sure sign that it's a great group to join.New hire, immediately felt at home at Fort Hills. Lots of support from head office and other departments.

I work here and this company really takes care of its people!!! I was working up at Forthills and the job there was completed and now the company instead of laying me off they found another place to put me!!! This company has great environment considering the amount of people who work here. Safety comes first with this company great people who work here!!! #happyemployee!!!
